Olson may have struck out the side (with one bb) in the first inning, but watching pitch location pointed to troubles ahead, which has been borne out.

Our defensive choices just got deservedly raked over the coals by Harold Reynolds. The team is looking really dumb so far in this game.

Playing no doubles defense at the wrong time, but mostly what they did with two outs and runners on 1st and 3rd. Tech took off for 2nd, and Kelly threw, but Keith as playing back and didn’t run to cover second, so he fielded the throw at the back of the infield, and the runner on 3rd sprinted home uncontested for the 5th run. Totally brain dead; Kelly threw to where Keith was standing, well to the right of the base.

Yikes. That is bad.

After 3 1/2 innings, Milwaukee has 12 hits and one bb, we have one hit and one bb, and our one hit got picked off first base. Milwaukee up 8-0. The last for Milwaukee was a long fly ball (>350 feet) by Hoskins on a changeup that Olson hung right in the middle of the strike zone. We are lucky it isn’t 11-0.

Olson is out after 4 innings, 89 pitches. Brieske in. He just pitched 3 innings 2 days ago. Edit: 4 days ago; The games are blending together…

And Brieske hangs a changeup in the same spot for a triple. 9-0.

Followed by a single on another hung changeup. At least this one was outside. 10-0.
