Now THIS is the Brad bashing I can get behind. There is no logical fucking reason he should've been let back in the bullpen other than to clean up other player's sunflower seeds off the ground. He's DONE. I don't give a fuck about his career numbers, the dude is done.

Especially the day after calling the fucking manager out!

I try not to be one of the Brad bashers, but shit like this is making it really hard not to be.

I want to say thank you to every one who has read the Tigers Team Notes and pushed the views over One Million.
Since the end of December 2006 when this thread started up at old espn,
and able to continue with Monster's Detroit forum and the more recent years
Admin Mike's here at DSF, it's great feeling to know that many people make it a daily part of their Tigers newsday fix.

NOTABLE:
Cabrera's homer to right was the seventh walk-off home run of his career and first since 2013.
Cabrera hadn't hit a home run this season since May 20.
The HR for Cabrera is also his 452nd, tying him with Carl Yastrzemski for 37th in MLB history.

Verlander walked five on Thursday, and he leads the major leagues with 42 walks this season. It's the third time this year that Verlander has walked five or more. He had no five-walk games in 2016 and only one in 2015.
Verlander got 12 swings-and-misses on Thursday: six on his fastball, three on his slider and three on his curve. He struck out six batters, three of them looking.
Taking the no-decision was Justin Verlander, who fought through struggles once again but turned in an otherwise solid seven innings. The ace righty?s mechanics seemed out of whack early, his pitch count climbed much too high too quickly once again, but he kept the Tigers in the game and was, for a brief time, was in line for the win.
Verlander allowed two runs on five hits over seven innings. He walked five batters and struck out six. He has walked 42 batters this season, tops in the American League.
Earlier in the game thread I mentioned Verlander faced his 10,000 batter and in the first inning it was Evan Longoria.

Rays shortstop Daniel Robertson had a rough day in the field. His second error of the game (briefly) gave the Tigers a 3-2 lead in the seventh inning.

Victor Martinez hit a soft grounder at Robertson, who lost his footing in the dirt as the ball skipped past him. Ian Kinsler, who led off the seventh with an infield single, scored on the play.

Tigers catcher Alex Avila entered the game hitting .364 (4-for-11) against Rays starter Alex Cobb. On Thursday, he struck out in all three at-bats against Cobb.

Justin Verlander still ain?t right. For a few batters, the power fastball and sharp 12-to-6 curve are in evidence with solid movement and location.
And just as quickly, it seems to get away from him for a few hitters.
So it?s to his credit that he was able to battle through this one, pitching around outbreaks of poor command. Watching him on the mound, it?s hard to believe the groin injury isn?t still nagging at him a bit.
Then again, he?s been like this most of the season.

Roars:
Miguel Cabrera: He looked on the verge of a DL stint most of the night, but when the lights were brightest, Cabrera delivered a desperately needed walkoff shot.

Justin Verlander: Something just ain?t right. Verlander is walking the world right now, but he battled through it with good fastballs and a curveball that had a much better shape on it than in recent outings. A gutsy but troublesome outing the Tigers really needed. 7 IP, 2 ER, 6 H, 5 BB, 6 SO. Weird, man.

Ian Kinsler: A single, a stolen base, two runs scored, and a pair of nice double play turns from the stalwart second baseman.

Hisses:
Francisco Rodriguez and Brad Ausmus: One called out his manager and coaching staff, demanding high leverage situations in which to prove himself. The other gave him a chance to put up or shut up, with predictable results.

They/Espn had the thread removed. I had to look at page 1 here, where I posted the dates and numbers.
When I was able to talk with a guy that was the head of everything at espn, he said it was removed because someone posted porn links into it the thread. When I told him all I did was post Tigers news, they said it could start over and they would watch to see if who had posted the smut initially would try to again. Never did happen again and the thread went longer than that first run.
So with the nearly 6 years and 47,000 posts, and over 1.1 Million views there/espn, the thread now has about the same amount of time and nearly as many views here.
The most enjoyable posts for me is each beginning post for the day; which is "this day in Tigers and mlb history" with what happened on that day with Tigers team and players success, mlb players news from previous years,
including all Tigers players, coaches, managers, executives birthdays and deaths. Now as Baseball Reference has improved,
I am able to post the Tigers transactions from that day throughout the years of the team.
Lot of fun, takes time for sure, but labor of love.
