Tigers vs. Reds Preview: Michael Fulmer looks to keep rolling in series finale.
Fulmer is coming off two strong starts against AL Central opponents. Can he make it a third against an NL Central foe?

Drew VerHagen broke his nose, is now on the disabled list
The Tigers recalled righthander Johnny Barbato to replace VerHagen.
Garbage in, garbage out.

Fulmer 6 up 6 down, albeit one hit batter which was erased on a caught stealing. 6 for 6 first pitch strikes.

I'm so glad the Tigers play in the AL. The DH is much better than having the automatic out at the bottom of the order.

Fumler implodes right around the PC that Gardenhire typically pulls him starters losing their stamina growing accustomed to 80 pitches instead of 100

Eh shit...doing some work in the home office; looking in from time to time and GameCast...seeing that the Tigers have relinquished the lead and are behind now...damn...

Fulmer was cruising at the time but too bad we didn't pinch hit for him with bases loaded last inning. Hindsight is 20-20.

here we go...blaming the manager.

Well Marboro Man and Beautiful Brad cost the Tigers at last 3 World Series titles but heck DD can be lump into this category for his failure to put together a decent Pen !!

of course, you chime in when it comes to blaming the manager...typical

also...lol...3 WS titles because of the manager. Too funny! :lmao:

Hardy is a much better starter than he is a reliever.

Pretty disappointing game today.

I thought they were going to go with a 6 man rotation when Liriano gets back. I guess they decided that wasn't a good idea.

Naturally they follow up a 5 game win streak by getting swept in a 2 game series by the hapless Reds.

but of course, I think the problem was we started to think hey it's a weak div maybe we can be postseason cannon fodder. Do'h

As good as they are @ home, as bad or worse on the road.

I know we suck, but we don't suck as badly as the Reds. No excuse for these past 2 games. Pissed.

WORTH NOTING

* When Blaine Hardy entered in the seventh inning, it marked the first time the Tigers had used a left-handed reliever since Daniel Stumpf last pitched on May 28.

Hardy last pitched out of the pen on May 17; he's made six starts since then.

Tigers manager Ron Gardenhire said Hardy will probably land back in the rotation at some point next week. Until then, he'll be available as a reliever.

His return to the pen didn't go well on Wednesday. Hardy retired just one batter and gave up a walk and two singles.

Louis Coleman inherited the bases-loaded jam and got a pop-out and a strikeout to end the inning.
