I thought cutler was suppose to be the next favre? Lol

He definitely choked in the playoffs like favre

Just not a good match with Martz. They don't have the greatest show on earth.

It was a good show. Some comedy, some drama and good character acting.

FUCK.

I shoulda brought popcorn for this thread.

it was like watching spousal abuse the way michiganalex ( bomber ) took a beating.

Think of it in terms of how a hitter in baseball transfers weight from his back foot to his front foot. It's not the weight on the back foot that creates throwing power, like dumb ass suggested, it's the weight transfer from your back to your front.

Look at the picture of Daryl Lamonica on the bottom of my post. See how all his weight is forward?

In the throw talked about in this thread, Stafford transfers his weight from his right foot to his left foot right as he releases the ball. That's why in the still shots I posted it looks like he's standing almost flat footed as he delivers it. If you watch the reel, the transfer causes his right foot to go straight out in front of him and his entire body contors from his left shoulder facing downfield, to his right shoulder facing downfield - which shows he got his hips around.

Any asshat with a laptop and the internet can pull up everybody's quotes and say "Oh yup, it's off his back foot"

But if you actually spent part of your life watching how people throw, you pick out things like that.

As for your "beating" Slick... you said nothing. Zero. You never do. You're sort of a waste actually and it's sad. Because you never have anything to say that's yours, just copy/paste from everybody else.

But hey, top notch buddy. You earned it.

lol

thats how he got so much zip on the ball to get it to him in stride , throwing it off the BACK FOOT.

You said it...

Just before your spiel about playing QB for 15 years.

Just letting you know that it's 100% wrong. Weight Transfer creates throwing power.

Ask Justin Verlander. If throwing off your backfoot got your throwing power, Denard would be All World...

Sorry bud. How's that dick flavored popsicle taste?

it was a mercy killing.

By who? A quote from Proboards.com?

You still didn't answer me if you thought his left foot ever hit the ground or not - because that was my entire point. He got his left foot down.

What do you think Slick, did he get his left foot down?

ofcourse he gets his left foot down fucktard...after the ball has left his hands....the ball is released as he is going backwards.

he saw the right end jump....took his drop and flicked the wrist off the back foot...it's why in the article Van Ochten wrote he says he threw it off the back foot...and why the article from National football post called it an astonishing throw...because it was off the back foot and he didn't follow through in the normal QB motion.

he's made the same type of throws in other games...he missed off the back foot to Heller in the Falcons game an he hit CJ off the back foot for the big 40 yard gain in the Vikings game

Stafford completed 32 of 46 passes for 378 yards, and he saved his best throw of the day for his last to Johnson. With blitzing linebacker Chad Greenway in Stafford's grill, the third-year quarterback heaved a pass off his back foot in Johnson's direction. The 6-foot-5 Johnson hauled in the ball with Griffin all over him, and Hanson calmly came out to end the game.

Schwartz commented on it after the game...he said they have been working on his mechanics and trying to get him away from the back foot and sidearm throws , but they're going to pop up from time to time...its tough to get the bad habits out of a guy thats been doing things so well for the past 10 years.

If he gets his left foot down Slick, it's not off his back foot - granted he's falling backwards... like I agreed with you on 4 pages ago...

You even said yourself, his right foot is his back foot...

Did you guys see that play where Stafford threw off his back foot for a td. That was pretty impressive.

whatever....the balls gone off the back foot....4 or 5 other posters have said so in the thread....2 National articles refer to it off the "back foot" and another fan blog talks about it.

the HC says they're trying to fix the mechanics but the throws off the "back foot" still pop up from time to time.

he made the same type throws in the Vikes game and Falcons game which were noted by beat writers...you yourself last week were doing nothing but bitching about him not stepping up in the pocket and throwing off the back foot.

whatever....great throw and TD.

If Kurt Warner breaks the throw down today when he does Top 5 QBs of the week - assuming Stafford makes it (he should) - guarenteed he won't call it a back foot throw. He'll criticize the mechanics, because they are horrific on that throw, but he got his "guide foot" down, transfered his weight, and got his hips around.

If he doesn't, he doesn't.

Either way, I think we pretty much beat this 1 throw out of 4-500 he'll have this season to fucking death.

Wow that was brutal...and a heads up for michiganalex, copying and pasting from reputed sources is called backing your statements with informed opinion and fact, not plaguerism or whatever point you were making with that spelling holocaust and your buffalo bill scrapbook of athlete pictures.

lol...I dont need Kurt Warner to criticize his mechanics...hiw OWN HEAD COACH criticizes his mechanics and says the back foot and sidearm throws need to be corrected and they're working on it.

he still makes a few every game...this one to CJ just happened to go for 6.

Right. You played QB for 15 years, and got coached by multiple people who told you your throwing power comes from your back foot.

lol. Gold.
