Greatest second baseman since 1969

Some quicky thoughts on the candidates...

Morgan: Bill James claims he might be the best player ever...take it for what it's worth
Alomar: Compared to Eddie Collins when elected...a step below Morgan believe it or not
Biggio: Love Biggio. True Grit. Not as good as the other two or Sandberg.
Sandberg: He's become underrated in recent years. Had one of the best games I ever saw in 1984.
Kent: Premier offensive 2b of his era.
Lou: Great defender, prime time player. Should be in the HOF. Shame that he went down so quickly.

Ty, All very good points on these players. for the good stuff bill james puts out, some of his claims border on ridiculous imo.
Lou Whitaker and Bobby Grich both have legitimate beefs with the HOF voting.

I agree. When Grich was nearing the end, I thought he'd make it.

Lou was excluded b/c he did not make the HOF. If he were still on the ballot, I would have included him. Yes, he was a conscious exclusion.
yeah, but i think the main reason he's off the ballot now is because everyone hates detroit. theres no reason he shouldnt be in the HOF except that.

Another write in for Lou

We can't get him into the HOF so let's at least get him on our best since 1969 list. Him winning wouldn't be a sham IMO

Lou-7
Alomar-6
Morgan-5
Biggio-1
Too close still. Will remain open until tonight!

I don't really like the WAR statistic, but the gap between Morgan and everyone else is amazing.
