Gronkowski was almost traded to the Lions

Lol! So he could do what? Run a bunch of routes and have Stafford riffle it 10 feet over his head?

I love how very careful they are to say in the article, "It wasn't that Gronkowski didn't want to play in Detroit; he didn't want to play anywhere other than New England, according to sources."

Yeah f'n right! I'm sure he would have retired rather than play in Los Angeles for a top contender, or if it meant spending his weeks on the beach on Florida for another.

That said, I'd be very interested to know how much Quinn was offering for NE to take the offer seriously. Would we be losing K. Johnson or Ragnow? How hilarious would it be to see how starkly different it looks with Stafford throwing him the ball this year instead of Brady.

Yeah I ageee with you . If it was the Rams he would have played for sure I too, wonder what the piece would have been.

I don’t blame him one bit, lions have barley used thier TE’s so far, he would have just become another decoy target here is all while they run for 1-3 yards a flop

Patricia swears we aren’t making “NE West” here in Detroit.....but a LOT of the moves he’s made (or tries to) say otherwise.

I hope they try to get Bell and he also declines

He wouldn?t be any good here anyway, don?t want him

It would immediately nullify the Johnson draft pick.....and that would make no sense. If the Lions went after Bell it would be one of the dumbest moves I can remember. Blount, K. Johnson and Riddick immediately become dispensable.....and you?d have to pay Bell more than all three of them make combined.

Money better spent on a pass rusher or a good LB.

Whats left unknown is who the Lions might have traded for Gronkowski.

One and/or more of Tate? Quin? Slay? Golladay? Ansah? Riddick? M or TJ Jones?
