Out shot Vancouver 34-13 or something like that and the team just can't score.. They miss the net way to many times.. They pass when they should shoot and shoot when they should pass.. damn it is so hard to watch the Wings totally dominate a game and let it slip away..

HOLLAND the team needs a goal scorer badly !!!!!!!!

All 3 of out player's were putrid in the shootout...

This team just seriously lacks offensive depth. When your best goal scorer is Franzen and possibly Brunner, you have serious problems. They need a winger who can put the puck in pretty badly or at least some slightly better wingers up and down the lineup.

This is a tough team to watch this year. I'd love to see us do something wild and find a way to build a high powered offense around Pav. This team seems to be full of role players who aren't playing any real role. We aren't tough, we aren't fast, we aren't a good defensive team, and we aren't a good offensive team. We're just kinda mediocre right now.

Sums them up pretty well. Really I think they should just play as many of their young guys as possible. They cannot be any worse than most of the current wingers of the elderly variety. Might as well roll the dice.

Also, they have now lost 3 shootouts in just the past couple of weeks. Shootout losses are going to be what puts them out of the playoffs. 2-5 now, 2-3 in other OT games. Columbus is 5-4 in shootouts and 5-3 in other OT games (extra 10 pts from OT). Dallas is 2-1 in shootouts and 2-2 in other OT games. Columbus 17 OT games and got an extra 10 points, Dallas has only 7 OT games and got 4 extra points. Detroit has 4 extra points from 12 OT games. Same amount as Dallas in 5 extra games, 6 less than Columbus? Gross.

In terms of speed and a good bit of spirit, this team misses Helm, IMO. Sure he is not a sharpshooter type, but that speed and enthusiasm has proven helpful in close games from times I have been able to watch.

The frequency with which the Wings either missed the net or shot the puck right into Schneider's chest was maddening. The logo on the sweater is not a target!

Not to mention it isn't a game of catch with the goalie, those shootout attempts were disheartening at best. It was like they don't want to win. So maddening. And that was dats and zett...the leaders lf the team should be able to do better than they did on those.

It seems the Wings have always struggled in the shootout. Im not sure if its just that i always remember the losses, but it seems that once they started doing the shootout the wings always seemed to struggle at it.

But IMO your right on target with the Wings needing a sniper, Thats why i thought Parise would have been a perfect fit on a line with Datsyuk who is more of a passer.

1 extra goal matters : The Red Wings are 4-15-6 this season when scoring 2 goals or less, however, they are 16-0-2 when they score 3 or more.

Yup we are terrible in shootouts this year and missing Todd B. is the main reason... he is stellar in shootouts for us..
