Hoops vs Louisville

Their 11% 3 point shooter had as many threes as our team before Wagner hit that one.

Frustrating because we didn’t match Louisville efforts much on defense.

Eh, what the hell.

Pretty sure this is not going to be the only road loss of the season.

They shot 37% and have 56 points. Can't ask the defense for more.

Maybe Theirs was better. It shut us down, and we allowed to many guys to penetrate. Our defense was good. Louisville was special they shut us down. Espically Simpson running the point. They had a much better game plan then we did. The travel has to be part of it even though Howard said they were not tired at half. Louisville missed a lot of wide open looks to just as we did. Just a need to learn and recalibrate the offense. Gotta hit shots.

We do play Oregon and 2 cupcakes. That weird big ten Schedule Starts this week. And we have two tough teams Iowa and @ Illinois.

My biggest worry is our strength around the rim on offense and defense We have Teske and who ? Livers, Castleton, Johns jr, Davis, Wagner ? Not much power.

O think we were effected by last week and all the travel. They didnt get back from the Bahamas till Saturday then left yesterday for Louisville. A loss at this point isnt a bad thing anyway. I did like the fact that they still fought the entire game. They still have a lot to improve on. As great as last week was it was almost to easy for them.

I REALLY doubt it was the travel. A 3 hour flight from the Bahamas on Saturday then going to Louisville isn't a big deal. My guess it was the 3 back to back to back games vs top 10 teams that wore them down physically and mentally.

Johns brings nothing as far as I'm concerned. I have no idea why he got so many minutes unless Howard is just hoping he improves by throwing him into the fire. I'm not impressed with Johns at all. Seemed out of it last season and I don't see any improvement whatsoever.

Having Teske take like 7 3 point shots is not the best offensive strategy. I know they were open and he did manage to hit 1, but that is not what I want to see. I want to see him under the basket not at the top of the 3 point line. UL knew he would miss and he did, then they got the rebounds. They were baiting them into that. He took several long 2's, also, that I didn't like. Yes, he led in scoring, but he took a lot of shots.

Brooks and Livers were no-shows. No idea why. Travel, playing a lot of games, playing at the #1 team in the nation who played really tough D...all factors.

I don't really have any problem with the loss either. They tried to gut out another effort, but fell short. It happens in college basketball on the road against good teams. No one is going to go undefeated. This team is still a lot better than anyone expected them to be if they can play like last week.

Last night could have turned out much different. They cut it to 4 in the 2nd half with that run and just started turning the ball over like gang busters. It was like a total collapse of dexterity.....fumbling , tripping, bad passes, etc. They couldn't get out of their own way. I think that, right there, showed how tired they were. I will take this excuse, because I didn't see anyone jumping around with any bounce and when you cant get your legs underneath you for a good shot, it's always going to be off. I mean the ball wasn't even rattling in and out. The shots were way off. Play this game on Thursday and I think the outcome is different. Maybe still a loss, but a close loss.
