Hoops

Getting out-rebounded and outscored in the paint by iowa and shooting 43% from the foul line. They look like absolute shit.

Outright champs!!! I'm not a fan of Cooper or Fidler either, but them getting minutes is likely a big part of why this team is so fresh in the 2nd half this season. 61 pts tonight in the 2nd half is insane.

Never in doubt. Agreed they have to get minutes but tonight seemed like too many for both. Had my dart league tonight so I couldn’t watch as closely for big chunks but Zapalla, Kohler and Carr weren’t in foul trouble. Seems like Zapala barely played - did he get hurt?

Edit: and I actually like Cooper a lot more lately - he’s just not as reliable as Kohler for offense and rebounds. But he moves pretty well without the ball, sets screens and has success with the pick-and-roll. I dread watching him post up though.

Fidler is like Dr, Jekyll & Mr. Hyde but way too much Mr. Hyde.

I stand corrected. Fidler played 14 minutes which is below his season average but a bit above his average for the last 6 games - although there’s a lot of variance in his minutes over that stretch w/ a low of 9 and high of 20.

Cooper played below his average on the season. And Kohler was about 4 minutes above his average - his minutes have been a bit volatile lately as well but not like Fidlers. Zapala got less than half his usual minutes.

It’s reassuring to play that poorly for 25 minutes and still win kinda easily. I’m just concerned if they do that against dook or auburn, they’ll be down 30, not 10. Although I don’t think Auburn knows what it’s like to play against a team that plays defense

Not to crap too heavily on Iowa, but this was pretty funny. Checking Draft Kings live lines, when we were coming back but still down 10 late in the 1h, the moneyline bet for MSU to win the game was -120. I was expecting it to be at least +180, but Draft Kings knew we were probably going to win the game even when Iowa seemed to have complete control.
