This is a flow chart of the who makes what decisions that could lead to impeachment. My TLDR version: most of the decisions between Mueller and Rosenstein just determine who gets to see Mueller's report. Most paths result in Congress getting the report. A vote to Impeach would require a majority of the House. If that happened, the Senate would hold a hearing requiring 2/3rds of members present to remove him from office.

As long as there is a feeling among Senate Republicans that the Mueller probe is tainted, there is no chance that the Senate will ever find 66 Senators to remove him. It will just be a Clinton impeachment all over again. Accomplishing nothing.

. . . and this includes the GOP losing every Senate race in November.

I don't believe a president can be indicted while serving his term.

Nixon was probably going to be charged had Ford not pardoned him after the resignation.

Clinton did pay some legal consequences for his perjury after leaving office, although he avoided any criminal conviction.

Wait so the 12 indictments were all for Russian agents hacking computers?

Is the issue they violated US law by pursuing their own national agenda?

I've been intentionally ignoring this Russia talk because it strikes me as a distraction, wholly made by our own intelligence services.. Seems like I need to keep doing that.

Yeah. Not that much of a big deal on its face. It formalizes that a part of the US Government is accusing as part of the Russian government of doing things we don't formally bring up often.

You could maybe read into the bit about no Americans wittingly being a part of these indictments, Giuliani is, but the way it was worded doesn't rule out that American were involved and will be brought up later.

If it is a big deal, my gut says it's a big deal because it includes money laundering charges - and that money went somewhere. If that same money laundering is linked to Americans, seems like this elevates the charge. Receiving money laundered in connection with conspiracy to commit an offense to the United States seems worse, and it seems like whether or not the investigation has any teeth depends a fair amount on the opinions of Congress and therefore to some degree, the court of public opinion.

If all it went to was like, I don't know, Facebook or TV ads, that doesn't seem like the biggest deal. Wouldn't be surprised it some of it went through the NRA first.

Perhaps more of a reach, but interfering with an investigation into conspiracy to commit an offense to the United States might be treason. I won't die on that hill; just a thought.

Yeah, don't die on that hill.

If Dems take back the House and Trump gets impeached, but there's no supermajority in the Senate so they vote not to remove him from office, I think it's a safe bet Trump would declare victory and say it's proof he didn't do anything wrong.

of course, that's what Hillary did when Comey decided not to press charges, Menendez did something similar when his corruption charges ended in a mistrial. Do you think he would all of a sudden develop a conscience? They're pathological narcissists - borderline sociopaths.

there's a wrestling term, "kayfabe," which I think is Pig Latin for "fake."

kayfabe - (in professional wrestling) the fact or convention of presenting staged performances as genuine or authentic.

"a masterful job of blending kayfabe and reality"

that's what all this is to me.

Trump should never have been president in the first place.

He should've been aggressively challenged over his record... which is nothing more than a career of fraud, mismanagement and bizarre, pathological self-promotion.

And the fact that he's openly engaged in corrupt dealings on his own behalf since he's gotten into office, and THAT'S not the scandal the nominal opposition party is concerned with... WTF?!?

The fact that these stories - Stormy Daniels, payoffs to whores, Trump Inc. diverting public business to its own assets, etc. - come out now are absurd. The NSA, FBI, CIA, have us under surveillance at all times. you really believe they would sit there idly while Trump gets elected, THEN discover he's a front for Russian interests?

Fucking Eh.

And Hillary's people rigging the Democratic primary against Sanders was largely ignored by the media, instead of acknowledged and covered as the serious threat to fair elections, and therefore our political stability it was.

The fact that he's president, and she was the one to challenge him just shows the contempt that the people running this country have for the rest of us, and our "democracy"

I think it's strange that none of this appears to impact the stock market. Tariffs and trade war talk should surprise Wall Street and get some kind of reaction.

The market knows it's all going to work out in the end. The market is typically 6 months forward-looking.

Fuck Trump. Lying pedophile and money launderer. Illegitimate President and failed businessman, turned wannabe mobster. Grandson of a pimp and married to a porn star. I hope he rots in jail before rotting in Hell.

And btw ...everything Hillary warned would happen, did or is.

....But her emails!!!!!!!
