But it still hurts to watch jabari. Were going to have a great year but just imagine if he was our 3 with bj at the 4

Parker was the best player I saw last night, he's already an NBA player. Wiggins has more upside, but Parker is a more sure thing. It's almost comical that Parker was playing last night, he looks like a man among boys. Those 2 along with Randle are going to be special players in the NBA. Randle was a Zack Randolph waiting to happen. Basically the same player at that age.

Keith Appling was one of the 5 best players to take the floor last night in either game though. It looks like he's ready to be a true PG now, he was hobbled most of last season and never got a chance to show his skills.

Harris is a top 10 pick. Dawson showed he can guard NBA 3s and 4s at the same time as rebounding with anyone. Actually showed a couple post moves and that elite athleticism is back. I think he gets drafted too. Payne was as athletic as their bigs and a better shooter, but he needs to be better with hsi back to the basket.

Jabari going to MSU almost wouldn't have been fair, same as if Wiggins had decided on UK. As it is now the field is more open, and it's going to be fun watching those teams this season. I hate using this word, but Wiggins seems a tad overrated. It's probably impossible to live up to the hype he's had though. There are stretches where you don't really know he's on the floor. But then at the same time he still had 22 and made all the plays down the stretch.

As for MSU, it's great seeing the team coming out strong right out of the gate instead of spending a month or two trying to "find itself" like so many of Izzo's previous teams. It's a long season and a lot can happen, but this team seems to have "it".

I try to have the "my teams on the floor" mentality but that staring lineup would have been the best in college hoops since 2009 UNC

The thing that will be huge for this team is health, not just Harris, but Appling as well, he was hobbled and exhausted the 2nd half of the season. Having a healthy Trice to run the point is huge in terms of keeping Appling fresh and effective all year.

The team has all of the pieces, they just need to have Gauna and Costello develop into tough rebounders. Costello is a decent defender already.

agreed on Appling, he had a horrible shooting slump when he was playing 38 minutes a game, that's not going to happen. Trice couldn't play much last night and guard 6'6" PG's but he'll be a factor against most teams

I cringe when I hear Jabari Parker now *what could have been*. I cringe even more when I think about Kentucky possibly landing 6 more Mcdonalds Americans next year (SHADY). I still cannot believe there arent at least 3 in the works every year for MSU. I know I know,, "Izzo likes guys to stick around" etc but There is no excuse not to have consistent top talent in the works for this program year in and year out..

He was in on so many guys earlier, he eluded about middlemen a few weeks ago. Top level recruiting is a cesspool

2014 is looking pretty disastrous now recruiting-wise. But realistically the team was going to take a step (or two) down from this season anyway. Some of those big name recruits might have softened the blow of losing who we're going to lose after this season, but not completely, and then after 1 year they'll be gone anyway. Missing on some of the next tier of guys really hurts though. Hopefully some of the current role players can develop and he can piece together a gritty, competitive team that at least keeps the NCAA tournament streak intact, much like in 2007, and then get some of guys in the 2015 class.

Agree Matt, We have nothing in the works, I just hope we take NC this year because the future as of now is looking pretty weak..
