If we do not win the series...

it makes no sense to try and upgrade catcher..yes avila is showing wear but he's a guy coming off a very good season and under club control for four more years.

and put me on the no Josh Hamilton bus...his contract would make it harder to extend JV and Miggy...who are both superior players to Hamilton.

If you honestly think Avilas PT is impacted by his dad working in the front office, you're an idiot.

I didn't say his PT was impacted, I said I don't see them upgrading the position. Because he's better than most catchers and he's cheap. But yes, you can call me an idiot because I do believe that having his dad working in the front office gives him some additional rope (so to speak) if he were to go through prolonged slumps.

If you really want to give big money to someone, sign some decent stop gap players next year and then throw big money at Cano next off season. Hamilton is on the wrong side of 30 and has the type of plate discipline that players who crater at his age usually display. He has all the makings of a horrible contract waiting to happen.

Basically according to the graph 2B, RF, and DH were terrible [Duh!] and 1B 3B and CF were above average.

Problem was everything Prince Miggy and Ajax made up for us, Raburn/Inge/Worth/Santiago, Boesch, and Delmon lost us.

Like we all have been saying... We need other guys to have a decent OBP... team needs victor back hitting like he did in the worst way.. (And home-field advantage in the series JV)

honestly, i dont think we're going to get any OBP guys this offseason. neither leyland nor DD value them at all. our team will likely continue to be built largely around guys who are free swingers, who dont walk, are inconsistent, and likely shit on defense until theyre both gone.

Kaline just posted something yesterday that it is rumored the Tigers are going to pick up Peralta's option. No surprise.

New SS with good range would be nice, but it's not a "must have" priority.

Corner outfielder(s) is, Bullpen help, and 3b Coach without Alzheimer's.

Man I just hope we can get someone to really fill the role of hitting in front of the best hitter in the game in Cabrera.

Dirks could perform that role fine at the moment against right handers. Unfortunately Jim still thinks that fast guys, irregardless of skill as a batsmen, should hit at the top of the order.

I hope the Tigers resign Sanchez in the offseason. He's been a nice addition to our starting rotation.

SS, LF, RF, Closer, anything less won't get it done and they are just wasting our time.

SS, 2B, catcher, LF, RF, closer, middle relief, manager...anything less won't get it done.

IF Martinez can't be healthy, then they'll need a real DH, too.

Its a good thing the AL Central sucked balls this year.
