Embarrassing second half, and embarrassing we were swept by them. Offense was awful, I?ve said for years any team that slows us into a half court game generally beats us, our sets were even worse than usual. It was 1 on 5 with everyone not named Winston shitting the bed. Henry needs to stop playing scared and passing up shots. Defensive rebounding was disgraceful, way too many second chances for IU.

Indiana has talent, but really plays garbage, hero ball. Yet it's worked twice against us.

Agree that Henry needs to man up. His apprehension is what is screwing up the offense right now. Still the team shot 54% so hard to complain about the offense. It would be nice to get Winston some looks off the ball on occasion. He's their best shooter but can't get any looks from 3 because the ball is always in his hands. But giving up 15 offensive rebounds and the turnovers were more costly.

That and-1 that ended up being the game winner was terrible. That foul was on the floor.

Also, does anyone else find it funny they rushed the court? I’m not mad or upset about it, they’re college kids in the midst of a bad season and you can do whatever floats your boat. I would just find it a little tacky if we did that in their shoes, unless we were #1 or something.

The fact that we even have a chance at the conference title with this team is amazing. I mean Kenny Goins is probably our #2 scoring option right now. That last play looked to be drawn up for him and Winston couldn’t get it to him.

Rushing the court isn’t what it used to be. Happens all the time these days

They're doing what they can offensively right now, but they're pretty limited. Ward out, Ahrens hurting (and hadn't been shooting well for awhile), Henry playing like a scared freshman, and McQuaid too likely not 100% today. Really need Ward back in order to make a run in the NCAA's, and looks like that should happen. Conference title is nice but they don't mean what they used to with the unbalanced schedules. Purdue will likely win it this year for much the same reason that we did last year.

Izzo postgame said Ahrens may be done for the year with his back. Couldn’t move from the bench second half apparently. Shitty but I want more Gabe brown anyways. Ahrens hasn’t been right for a month plus.

Negative Nelly here

Is there a year we dont lose a top 3 player for at least 2-4 weeks in the last decade? Normally it is a top (1-3) player/s for 8 weeks every fing year?!

Gosh, We can survive without Josh here and there but Ward. Its a disaster without him. I knew we could easily drop this one today, we did. Its always a tough game at IU regardless of our team.

Let me guess, winston gets an acl injury next game.....:zzz::zzz::zzz::zzz::zzz::zzz:

we palyed a lot of half court against uofm - i dont get why we can be so effective against a better team and then not be prpared to do it in a revenge game after a week off.

There have been a lot. Even going back to Cleaves missing 13 games in the beginning of the 1999-2000 season. Then again in the championship game though it ended up not mattering. Dawson tearing his ACL late in Draymond's season year. Kalin tearing his achilles in the 2010 tournament. All the injuries in 2013-2014 (basically everyone except Harris at one point or another). Even Denzel missed a few weeks during 2016, though that team was 100% by tournament time. All the Big men getting injured in 2017 forcing us to play Goins at center all year. This year has been as bad as any.

The team can still make a run if McQuaid's ankle doesn't become a lingering issue and Ward can get back. Though if Ahrens is done then Henry really needs to step up and he's not inspiring a lot of confidence in me of late. It would mean some minutes for Brown too.

It seemed like against Michigan we had guys constantly moving on offense, it?s easy to say this in hindsight after a loss but I just didn?t see the same ball rotation and movement. Seemed like it was 25 second of Winston dribbling, ineffective screen, forcing a contested shot as the shot clock hit 0.

I agree on needing Ward over Langford, although after yesterday I actually missed Langford more. We have no realiable shooting threat in the backcourt other than Winston and it showed yesterday, Mcquaid has been decent but I don?t trust him like I did Langford.

And Winston is only 0-4 from 3 the past 2 games and isn't getting open looks from there because he constantly has the ball with the dribble. That's where we need Ward back. Maybe those looks are there again if we're throwing the ball into him.

it's easy to say because it's mostly true. It's like they were 2 different teams - and it's not like uofm was flat-footed and caught off guard. That was a well played game defensively by both teams - they defended us as well as iu did (in my opinion) we just played a lot better. That's the mystery - the inconsistency and the range of quality of coaching/execution from one game to the next.

I know Langford has another year of eligibility but is there any chance he can qualify for a medical red shirt for another year?

I think you have to play in less than a third of your teams games. He played in 13. So we'd have to get to 40 games on the season. That means making the BTT final AND the NCAA finals. There's nothing to stop us from applying for one if we're close in that regard on the off chance that it's granted. Still, I'm not sure I see him playing here 2 more years anyway. At some point, it's time to move on.

I'm surprised they would count post season in that total but I don't see us getting to BTT final, let alone the NCAA final - especially if we run into IU along the way to either.

On a separate note, Jim Delany is stepping down as Big Ten commissioner after his contract ends next year. Good freaking riddance.
