Game Notes
Tigers vs Tomlin
Indians vs Verlander
--The Tigers haven't been able to crack the code against Cleveland this season, and it's hurting their standing in the American League Central. Detroit is 0-8 against Cleveland, and that helps explain why the Indians are in first place and the Tigers are in third place six games back entering today's game.
--The Indians have outscored the Tigers 51-17 in the eight games played so far, including Cleveland victories in the first two games of this series.
There isn't anything mysterious about it. The Cleveland Indians are dominating the Detroit Tigers this season with their pitching.
Manager Terry Francona's team is getting a good start from just about everyone he sends out to face the Tigers this season. And the starters manager Brad Ausmus is sending out to face the Indians haven't measured up.
