Indians trade for Derek Lowe

They topped that by not picking up Sizemore's option and by picking up Carmona's.

I wonder if the rest of the GMs in the division (sans Kenny Williams, who probably thinks those were good ideas) are laughing at them.

even with a bad year pitching lowe had a GB rate of nearly 60%.
The indians total infield regular starters UZR was -34.

who cares? its not like penny will be back next year. and lowe likely isnt their 5th starter, hes probably their 3rd or 4th.

What on Earth is this team doing? I thought they were rebuilding, then they went out and traded away good young prospects to get Jimenez who has had all of 1/2 of a great season and has pretty much sucked other than that. Now they trade for a 38 y/o pitcher who had a 5+ ERA in the NL, don't pick up the option on Sizemore, but pick it up on Carmona? I'm so confused... the only thing I can figure is that they value pitchers who look good 25% of the time, but get shelled the other 75% of the time.
