Jason Jones our DE

It might be that way now but in the end I see him at depth across the entire line rather than a starter at DE.

Still...let suh play DE. I feel like he's better suited there. Now we have two good Dts inside. Why not give it a chance?

Our coaches don't seem like the innovation type and trying new things.

Not sure if I want a guy who is 275 playing on the inside full time.

Versatile is good. Playing next to Suh/Fairley should help Jones. But you never know with Avril being average in pass rush in 2012(with Suh and Fairley doing well) and KVB/Jackson/Young sucking in pass rush last year and everyone but Jackson sucking in run defense.

Jones is a good young vet who has some upside. We'll find out pretty quickly in the season if it works out given he'll probably be playing alot.

I'd love to see Suh get some time on the end this year. I really would have loved us to switch to a 3-4 and use Suh/Hill/Fairley up front, but that's clearly not happening now or in the forseeable future.

Id like to see Fairley play some DE this year too, guy seems to have a much quicker first step than Suh, imo

SLH is gone.

Playing him at DT is out of position. He is 276 lbs.

Are you just TRYING to find something to whine about?

Sure it wouldnt be too hard to gain 15-20lbs by august.

Correct me if I'm wrong (I very well could be), but didn't Suh get more snaps on the end in his rookie season than in his 2nd and 3rd season?? If I'm recalling that correctly, why in the hell would you NOT play him on the end more??

If I had to guess, I remember when Schwartz said he played Suh too much as a rookie. So he probably did play DE as a rookie so they could get SLH in there at times. But they added Fairley so Suh didn't have to play as much. Therefore, no need to play DE.

At least that's what I'm thinking.

That's about the only explanation that makes sense. The way this defense played last year, imo they have nothing to lose by giving Suh some reps on the end. Even if it's only a few snaps per half, not being so predictable would go a long way.

I definitely agree. One reason I like the 3-4, Is the LB going to rush or stay back, what will the DE do? 4-3 is too boring for me.

Gunther is stuck in 1920. his defense is boring as hell. They stunt mayyyybe twice a game. no blitzing. Be creative with suh is asking a bit much.

I'd like a 3-4, get a big NT and put Suh and Fairley on the ends. That would be freakin' sweet.
