Foot surgery, I'm hearing as little as 4 weeks but up to 8. This is a huge loss for us.

Shouldn't be a big deal...should it? Isn't he just a bench player?

he might have started, he got more praise than any of the incoming freshmen. Now Ellis or Forbes may start but I would guess that Bess would get 20 to 23 minutes per game.

Could you be any more vague with the thread title? I was expecting way worse than missing a couple games when I saw this thread.

sorry for making you read the text in my post where I said it's somewhere between 4 and 8 weeks.

What is the projected lineup?
Trice, Ellis, Valentine, Dawson, and Costello? Or is Izzo planning to have Dawson at the 3? I really hope not...he's so effective down low.
If Dawson really wanted to be could dominate this year. 20 and 10 every night. He's such a gifted athlete I just hope he has his mind right. He could be a lottery pick or drop to second round depending on how he plays this year.

I don't know about ellis, I hope you're right. He looks kind of still out there, slow moving, not fluid

Probably Dawson at the 4. I saw some Izzo quote where he said he could envision using him there similarly to how they used Draymond at the 4 (minus the 3 pt shooting threat that Draymond provided) as far as using him in that 15 foot and in area and moving him around to different places and let that open up some things for some shooters.

Costello and Schilling are the only 2 true big men and both are so foul prone, I don't think there's any way you can play them together for any length of time.

I think Ellis will be a solid starter, not sure about him being a star.

A little thought on Bess, to qualify for a medical red shirt you have to play in 30% or fewer of your teams games. Right now he's played in 30.7%, if we beat duke that will make it 30%. with all of the additional games we've played in the BTT and ncaa tournament we could hit the magic number.
