Jets 2 Red Wings 1 Final

Not much going for Detroit in the 2nd period but still up 1-0.

Wings lose again . Hope the draft class is decent this year because it appears the wings will get a high pick lol.

1: Det
2: Det/NYI
3: Det
4: Det
5: Det/Buf/CBJ
6: Det
7: Det/ 5% chance to get Arizona conditional of Russo dressing 30 games

UFAs: Nyquist/Vanek/Witkowski/Kronwall/Jensen/Howard

Nyquist: 50-50 trade or resign he does have a NTC
Vanek: 95% trade
Witkowki: 25% trade likely late round pick if anyone is interested
Kronwall: 1% trade
Jensen: 25% trade, probably little interest except depth
Howard: 50-50, Wings missed the boat on trading him years ago

Despite Vanek putting up very good numbers with Vancouver they got pretty much nothing back. Jokinen hitting his 4th team of season and a 13th/AHL forward. Vanek's defensive deficiency will bring down any trade value, and unfortunately, he isn't generating points (despite the chances) in Detroit.

Frk is also an RFA, but he is more likely lost on waivers for someone to strengthen their AHL team.

Important to note is that if Goose is traded he won't fetch quite the overpriced bounty that Tatar got.

Speaking of Tatar he's had a pretty hot start 8 points in 9 games. Although those 3 goals were all quite fluky but they count the same.

1st period they played great.

2nd period penalties cost them all momentum.

3rd period was kinda back and forth but not generating enough chances/shots.

That is still the biggest problem with team. Nobody really driving the net and not getting enough shots.

Most offence comes through AA/Larkin/Vanek.

Vanek - his linemates just ain't finishing the plays
AA - needs more than 16:30 a night, he is #1 source of offense for this team. Starting to think if there is beef between Blash and AA, cause he's been limiting AA since his start in Detroit.

Like that series with Tampa, AA is only one generating offence. Rewarded with benching. Come on, we know he is rookie and might have defensive holes, but he was one of only guys getting any offense generated.

Larkin is Larkin, don't need to say much.
