Even if age wasn't a concern. This might be just me, but I don't see him making other players better. Like I would expect from other greats.

dude name 1 person from the cavs run prior to Miami... he took that garbage to the finals multiple times lol. I'm not the biggest lebron fan... but you can't say he doesn't make people better.

Look at this season.. Everyone keeps saying it's Lebron willing his team to victory. It's on his shoulder.. Why was it any different than 1st time with Cavs? Plus, there wasn't much competition to the Cavs back then..

The bulls still averaged 50+ wins in the two seasons Jordon “retired”. The Cavs went from the finals to the first pick overall when James left. LeBron also never had Phil Jackson. Just a few pro LeBron points.

I think most of us are Pistons fans. Remember the Rip and Chauncy teams that won a championship. I do. I also remember 2007. This was Lebron's supporting cast that year.

D Gooden
Z Ilgauskas
L Huges
S Pavlocic
D Jones
D Marshall
Booby Gibson

Pistons

R Wallace
T Prince
C Webber
C Billups
Rip
A McDyess
D Davis
L Hunter

Scorer MJ
passer LBJ
rebounder LBJ
Defender MJ
FG% LBJ
FT% MJ
3pt % LBJ

knocks on LBJ- he is a great defender but takes plays off.

knocks on MJ- got kicked out of the NBA for gambling

These two guys are very different. MJ is more like Kobe and Lebron is like Magic. I prefer Lebron.

Also, 3pt shot's are more different now than before. FG% is easier now because well you didn't have guys like Laimbeer and Robert Parrish smashing you in the face all game.

They weren't as prevalent .. Not to the point where everyone is shooting them like today. Lebron shot more 3 point shots per game like a dozen times more than MJ's best.. Even Blake Griffin shoots more than MJ ever did in a season.

I just think if MJ shot more he would have been better over his career. All subjective.

things change. Players are better today. They are more athletic and more skilled shooters. They are not as physical due to the changes in the rules.

That's because they were born at a different time. 25 years from now they will be even more athletic. We'll have 7'2" point guards.

I agree a lot with the ESPN article. For their respective careers, Lebron is the better overall player. He's been at the top of the game for nearly his entire career. He's taken garbage teams way further in the playoffs then they deserved, and even beat an all-time great team in the Warriors.

Jordan has has greater team success when he was surrounded by great players, but hasn't really shown more than Lebron when he was on his own. That said, Jordan had the highest highs of any player ever. If you could pick any player for one year, or one game, you'd pick Jordan. He was the most singularly unstoppable force in the game (both ends of the floor), even if he couldn't maintain that peak as long as Lebron.

So it's really a pick your poison kind of thing. If you could choose one player to start a team with from his rookie year to his retirement, you probably pick Lebron. If you're playing a single series, or even single season, you probably pick Jordan. I think best of all time is about all time, not just the best year, so I voted Lebron.

Legit take.

Lebron might have been swept if Boston had Kyrie and Gordon.

Surprised they were as good with the injuries they've had. regular season game 1 they lost Gordon Hayward. That was a big injury.

For anyone else 26-10-5 seems like a pretty good game. But I didn't watch so ..

He had quite a few turnovers but despite that I didn't think he had a bad game. But at no point did you get the feeling he was going to try and take over the game. And his teammates were shooting pretty bad, he seemed content with how the game was going (I'm sure he wasn't, it just seemed that way).

I feel like he could get to the rim any time he wants to. He's a physical freak, but sometimes he just doesn't play like it.

It's this way of taking about LeBron that always confused me with people who want to downplay him (not saying you are one of those sgg). In order for that statement to be true, you must implicitly believe that LeBron can just do what wants on the court and nobody could do anything to stop him. If you already believe that, then you might as well consider him on the same level of MJ. If you don't really believe that, then implying he's underachieving doesn't really make sense.
