It's this way of taking about LeBron that always confused me with people who want to downplay him (not saying you are one of those sgg). In order for that statement to be true, you must implicitly believe that LeBron can just do what wants on the court and nobody could do anything to stop him. If you already believe that, then you might as well consider him on the same level of MJ. If you don't really believe that, then implying he's underachieving doesn't really make sense.

Astute observation. Meanwhile, the LeBron haters woke up to the news this morning that he will be playing in his eighth straight NBA championship series. Just five other players can make that claim and they all played for the Celtics in the 50's and 60's.

Edit: Should have used detractors instead of haters. I see no evidence of any LeBron haters on the board.

Wonder if Jordon would have won 8 in a row if he didn't go baseball. I hope Houston gets to the finals just so it's not the same ole same ole.

Just not a fan of either so I would take Russell over both. But that is my bias of being a Piston fan and wishing both would have played for Detroit.. One freaking mess up in the draft taking Darko cost Detroit Multiple nba titles sadly. I really hate Boston but would have preferred to watch them in the finals over Cleveland.

I think Jordan benefitted from being a couple years older when he entered the league.

Lebron might've made some better career decisions earlier on, that would change outcomes, but I guess we'll never know. Seems like he didn't mentally mature enough to be a leader until he came back to Cleveland, and he's generally had an awful supporting cast since then... unlike Jordan.

the Bulls honed themselves by playing & eventually overcoming truly great teams (Pistons, Celtics)... Cleveland hasn't had that.

It's almost impossible to compare the two careers b/c of that.

Legit take.

I forget who owned the Bulls back in the Jordan years... but they were obviously a better owner than Dan Gilbert.

playing for a team owned by that bum is tough as well.

Jerry Reinsdorf has owned the Bulls since 1985.
