will be MSU offensive line vs their defensive line, they run a 3-4 defense all the time and they are susceptible to power teams. when Stanford beat Oregon I think Stanford held the ball almost all game, Oregon had 7 possessions, maybe 45 snaps, they usually try to snap it 90 times in a game.
I didn't like what i saw from the running game on friday night, we ran for about 250 yards and that's good but a lot of the big runs were end arounds and trick plays. None of our backs had a great yards per carry, Langford had two injuries, his ankle was twisted at the bottom of the pile by a JSU player. Hill was ok but we weren't opening big holes and breaking away, Delton Williams wasn't great and we need a lot from him saturday night. Maybe things would be a little different if we had Kruse back and Keiler on the bench, hopefully jackson plays. We would be much better off rotating 7 or 8 guys in there, I think we'll rotate 6 with Brian Allen being the last guy in. This does not bode well for us, we could improve a lot between week 1 and 2, that's what I'm hoping.
If MSU can run the ball effectively against their 3-4 we have a great chance of keeping their offense off the field and winning the game. the blueprint isn't rocket science, you just have to be able to execute and do it.
