Kyle McCord in the transfer portal

McCord is not their problem. I thought he actually played really well against Michigan, especially considering he was injured. And he was injured because his coach had him drop back to pass from his own 20 with 15 seconds left in the half the week before. Kid is being scapegoat Ed and I would absolutely take a flier on him if he's interested. Not guaranteeing a starting job but you're definitely going to get a shot. Assuming JJ leaves that is.

He had two terrible INTs in that game. Those two INTs were probably the difference.

That said, if they are forcing him out, ist's a bad move. If they think they have a better option, let the kids fight it out for the starting job this off season.

He's a first year starter playing on the road in the biggest rivalry in college football.

He could be just a loser who can't compete on this level, OR OSU might have just shot themselves in the foot, and put even more pressure on whoever the next guy is, making it even harder for them to win this game OR Maybe they find another Troy Smith who comes in and can play like a superhero in this game.

Doesn't seem like good coaching/player management to throw away a big time recruit you've invested a year+ of coaching... but it is the kind of thing fans scream for when they get mad their team lost.

Listen to the fans... you end up sitting with them

What quarterback worth his salt would want to play for a program that would throw him to the curb if he couldn't somehow beat its biggest rival in his first attempt? This is a product of the transfer rule in the NIL, and makes more of a case for paying players directly from the revenue they help generate regardless of the results of any given game.

I didn't realize McCord was a 5-star.

Along with Julian Fleming, OSU now has two (2) 5-stars, seven (7)(!!!) 4-stars, and a couple 3-stars in the portal (link)

That seems like a lot of talent to lose, even for OSU.

I called for Burrow to be their starter that year. He should have been given a shot. His Spring Game was phenomenal that year.

Funny that OSU claims him as their own AFTER he wins a National Championship and plays in the Superbowl

I just saw a breaking story that Air Noland has now de-committed from Ohio state

The first interception was on McCord. The second one was absolutely not on McCord. His protection broke down (again) and he was getting blasted as he threw. That kid put up with all the shit that those loser fans could throw at him and had them closer to winning than a guy that's competing for NFL MVP as a rookie.

Wasn?t the first Int partial on Harrison too ? I could have swore somewhere I heard he ran a lazy route. I thought it was on McCord too. Just checking.

If JJ leaves... Michigan taking McCord out of the transfer portal AND then beating OSU in 2024 would be the funniest thing to ever happen in college football.

I posted this on Facebook earlier this morning lol... ultimate troll move. I kinda want to see it.

Unbelievable. Do they even have someone coming in who can start as a frosh?

Otherwise they need to have a couple million handy to hit the transfer portal.

There's like 6 staring qbs in the portal.

Washington st
Ucla
Oklahoma
Oregon state
Duke
... couple more

^^^Those Woody moments are legendary^^^. And to think that the 1971 M-OSU game was not televised. You had to be there, like Tinsel was.

Not even close.

...

Well, technically, Woody punching Charlie Bauman wasn't part of the rivalry, although everything I've read about the incident usually includes a mention that OSU had lost three straight to Michigan that season.

We can agree to disagree, but I mean, come on... OSU kicking a 5-star recruit out of the program, essentially blaming him for not being able to win this game, only for him to transfer to TTUN and win this game would be insurmountable irony, on top of the meltdown they're having after 3 losses in a row. That program and (most of) its fans are soft as cotton candy. They couldn't handle what we went through from 2012-2020.

Was thinking this transfer should put to rest any of the remaining ability to argue "the players aren't employees, and shouldn't be paid" BULLSHIT.

McCord has essentially been fired from his job for losing a game... for performance.

The charade will be over sooner than later.

NIL hasn't ruined the game, it's just taking it where it needed to go.

where did you hear that it wasn't his decision to leave? I have read rumors, but there is no evidence that the decision to enter the portal wasn't his decision.

As far as pay to play, this article seems to indicate that it is going in that direction sooner than later. Be careful what you wish for.
