Langford to miss rest of season

Terrible news, a huge loss but not season ending for the team. We really need Ahrens back healthy now ASAP.

Of course a major player out for at least half the season. Its nearly every fucking year! *rolls eyes*

2014 was the worst. IIRC, Payne, Harris, Dawson, and maybe others all missed good amounts of time and finally all got healthy in early to mid March around the Big Ten tourney. Ended up losing to UConn in the Elite 8 (which still pisses me off to this day).

Edit: just took a look, mainly Payne Appling and Dawson, Harris didn’t miss any games

Thats a year that got away. I really thought NC. Its true though, one of our top 2-3 players is hurt for an extended period it seems like very fing year.:ugh:

This hurts for March. I actually think our offense runs better without Langford, but he's definitely the type of player who can take and make big shots in big games that gets you close wins. Also is a very good defender.

Ahrens was a full go in practice this week. But losing Langford really takes our depth away which could have worn a lot of teams down come March. We run, and Langford can get out on the break, rolling several good wings out there in Langford, McQuaid, Ahrens, Henry, and Brown would mean we could just run some teams off the floor. That's not as big of an advantage now without Langford.

What would an MSU season with title aspirations be without a major injury to a key player? They have played pretty well without Langford, but that has been with the thought that he they were holding the fort until he got back. Now he isn't getting back. I feel like they're going to have a hard time against elite opponents without that third guy who can get them points. If teams take Ward and/or Winston out then it becomes a lot harder to score. When Langford was in there teams would have to take 2 of those 3 out, which is much harder to do.
