Lions bringing back Ross and Durham

Ross a no brainer.

Durham is cheap and he better be the 4th really 5th WR. Sick of injuries to the number 2 and 3 Wrs the last 2 years.

durham can be a #3 WR given his numbers

When you take into account that he was playing #2 across from Calvin most of the season, his numbers aren't that impressive and aren't indicative of his abilities to play in the slot.

Hmmm big goofy guy that cant get open and keeps dropping the ball cause he tries to catch with 1 hand all the time for some stupid reason.....sure lets give that guy a roster spot. Fuckin mayhew lol.

Offseason not over yet bud. We'll get a real number 2 and number 3 through draft and free agency. Durham will fight for a job.

if you suck for multiple years you shouldn't be fighting for a job. hes had every chance to succeed here and has proven he cant. he has a roster spot cause hes Stafford butt buddy....thats no way to run a business. mayhew blows.

You are overreacting. Durham deserves to battle for the number 5 job. Maybe the new coaching staff gets more out of him. We'll see who else we end up with on the roster. Long offseason. You need to stop overreacting to a cheap move in February.

NFL teams don't seem to cut guys unless it's time to cut. Before free agency and before draft there is no reason to cut them. None of its guarentee, eh?

hes started the last 2 years. bad job mayhew. You need to stop underreacting to moves that make this very average team, worse.

Durham`s ERFA Tender is only 570K, he won`t even cost against the cap. No harm in keeping him and letting him earn a roster spot in camp, they will probably bring back Ogletree at the minimum as well to earn a spot in camp.

Fuck Durham, I was really hoping he would get cut.

The WR depth in the draft is amazing but knowing the Lions...

theres a ton of low priced WR FA guys that could play huge roles on this team too. I don't even think we need a true #2.

If you went out and got DHB to be a deep threat opposite calvin. Danario Alexander to be a big body opposite calvin. Then, shoot for cooks or beckham jr in rd 2 to man the slot. If Stafford cant produce with that he doesn't belong in this league as a starter. If mayhew feels like he needs to make a "splash" then the most expensive guy I think he should get is an Emmanuel sanders which is just a more expensive DHB. Decker will demand way too much money and wont be very productive here. Maclin is coming off a major injury and I don't think you pay "slot types" big money.

Bush, Bell, CJ, DHB, Danario Alexander, Cooks/Beckham is one of the better offensive groups in the league. Would be all on Stafford at that point.

All those tier 2 guys have some serious drawbacks

DHB - Hands/production
DX - 5th Knee surgery on one knee
Sanders - Production
Maclin - Knee

I get what you are saying though we don't need to hit it out of the park with our #2 receiver just have someone who is a clear #2 and not a #4 playing a #2. I think we are better off in the draft than FA to get that. For example:

Martavis Bryant, WR, Clemson:
Speaking of running on Sunday, I received a lot of grief after posting earlier this week Martavis Bryant of Clemson will scorch the track, timing in the low 4.3's during the forty. Earlier today separate sources, unaffiliated with Bryant, confirmed the wide out is a low 4.3s/high 4.2s forty man.

that's ridiculous for how big he is lmao. Ive even heard some people say he might grow into a TE at the next level. I have him right there with Brandon coleman who I was mocking to us in rd 3 a couple months ago....but if Bryant runs THAT fast and blows up the combine he'll go round 2. Mocks have soooooo many different WRs going in round 1 ....its really going to come down to the combine this year. If you only have 1 day to watch...it should be WR day this year.

WRs ive seen mocked in rd 1:
Watkins
Evans
Lee
Beckham
Cooks
Robinson
Matthews
Adams
Landry

throw in your combine freaks and there should be some very quality WR talent in rd 2.

Itll be a very confusing draft now that safety is such a need. But as long as we are focused on filling holes at CB, WR, S in 3 of the first 4 round I think we should be ok. If Barr falls to 10 itll throw a wrench into getting all those needs covered cause I think you might have to take him.

RD 1 - Gilbert, Barr or trade down for WR, Pryor or Dennard
RD 2 - Joyner (play at safety), Best WR out of the above list, Verrett is the only corner id take after rd 1(if he falls that far), top TE that falls (ASJ or Amaro), Dee Ford (value if he falls)
RD 3 - Ahmad Dixon S, Best WR avail Coleman or Bryant?
Rd 4 - Best WR Avail Moncrief?

Technically if they tender him he is no more than a camp invite, his sallary doesn not affect the cap and they can cut him whenever without doing any harm.
