Lions bringing back Ross and Durham

I have no problem with Durham coming back as a 4 or 5. Has some chemistry with the qb. Better find a # 2and 3 though.

Thats what seems most likely in my opinion. Durham and Ross would be your 4th and 5th recievers. Then they draft or sign a 2 and bring in some vets along with Ogletree to compete for the slot position.

So when calvin breaks a finger and your #2 blows out a knee you want to start durham again? no thanks. he doesn't belong on a nfl roster.....id rather see corey fuller as the 4 over him. cut his ass.

What do you know about Fuller though? He was on the practice squad all year. All I`m saying is that there is no harm bringing Durham into camp. Most likely they will sign a couple of vets to bring into camp as well to compete for those last couple WR positions. If Fuller is good he will beat those players out and win a job on the Roster. No harm bringing in as many WR as you can on cheap deals to compete for those jobs in camp.

They could sign Joe Blow off the street for all I care. Just as long as the best 53 players are on the roster come week 1.

That said, if Durham is the 4th option or higher, this team probably had a terrible offseason.

Honestly I would have less of a problem with it. Think of where the 4th WR will rank as in terms of option. The first 3 WR, Pettigrew (assuming the bring him back), Fauria, Bush, and Bell will all have more targets than whoever is the 4th WR. If you are worried about injuries then any time Calvin and your #2 or #3 WR go down you are going to make a move anyway to replace them. #4 and #5 WR are special teams players for the most part anyway

the 4th wr this year was durham. He got a ton of targets, tons of drops, tons of attempted one handed grabs, tons of catching the ball then throwing it to the other teams before he stepped out of bounds.

The year before that he was the 5th wr....and still ended up starting a bunch of games.

that's ridiculous for how big he is lmao. Ive even heard some people say he might grow into a TE at the next level. I have him right there with Brandon coleman who I was mocking to us in rd 3 a couple months ago....but if Bryant runs THAT fast and blows up the combine he'll go round 2. Mocks have soooooo many different WRs going in round 1 ....its really going to come down to the combine this year. If you only have 1 day to watch...it should be WR day this year.

WRs ive seen mocked in rd 1:
Watkins
Evans
Lee
Beckham
Cooks
Robinson
Matthews
Adams
Landry

throw in your combine freaks and there should be some very quality WR talent in rd 2.

Itll be a very confusing draft now that safety is such a need. But as long as we are focused on filling holes at CB, WR, S in 3 of the first 4 round I think we should be ok. If Barr falls to 10 itll throw a wrench into getting all those needs covered cause I think you might have to take him.

RD 1 - Gilbert, Barr or trade down for WR, Pryor or Dennard
RD 2 - Joyner (play at safety), Best WR out of the above list, Verrett is the only corner id take after rd 1(if he falls that far), top TE that falls (ASJ or Amaro), Dee Ford (value if he falls)
RD 3 - Ahmad Dixon S, Best WR avail Coleman or Bryant?
Rd 4 - Best WR Avail Moncrief?

Crazy depth at WR. If the chips fall a certain way I would have no problem snapping up back to back receivers in the third and fourth. I'd be happy with the draft above, happiest with Barr in there.

I don't want Bryant. With his size and speed combination, his hands are the reason he isn't a first round pick. Lions WRs have dropped enough passes and Bryant doesn't help that problem.

His hands are okay,, great in the redzone - see the bowl game for that. It's his rawness, playing next to Sammy, and a deep draft that hurts him. He'd be a lock day two pick otherwise. He should have went back for a year, could have shown he's the man when Sammy is gone. He's a day 3 because Evans, Benjamin, and Matthews are all day 1.

hes started the last 2 years. bad job mayhew. You need to stop underreacting to moves that make this very average team, worse.

Durham has started by default on this team. Guys like Burleson, Young and Broyles out of commission is why he even seen the field on the regular. He's a #4 or #5 at best. Don't get it twisted because your hate for Mayhew runs deep in your bloodstream....fn breathe. ;)

correct....the argument was made that hes just here to fight for the 4th or 5th spot. My point was that's what he was the last 2 years too...and he ended up starting. Its time to fill the roster with guys that actually have talent. If you keep doing the same thing over and over and you keep sucking.....do something different so you don't suck anymore!

Original Wr 2 and 3 staying healthy for all 16 would be different

I think what he's trying to say is "get better number 4 and 5's so if injuries happen we have guys that can still play". Not a direct quote of course.

original number 2 has been released and original number 3 cant return a punt without his achillies exploding. We need talent at the position....not durham.

Agreed we need a new number 2 and 3 and we need them to stay healthy so whoever is the number 4 or 5 doesn't see the field. But in terms of number 4 or 5, compared to alot of teams (not every team), Durham is comparable.

Number 3's legs look like something out of "The Walking Dead". Why do they always go for the calves? Is it an effects thing?

Thats why we draft Mike Evans or Jordan Matthews, big boy. :)

Ka........boom. ahhhhhh.
