Lions lowball George Johnson Bucs sign him to 3 year offer sheet

Even the blindest of homers could see depth as a need.

Cassius Vaughn getting several snaps in a playoff game? No problem
(Insert guy off the street) playing RT? No problem

We're actually lucky there weren't more serious injuries.

Silly me for thinking the Lions should be prepared for the unexpected. Let's just draft TEs and hope and pray for no injuries.

Lions are so good they could have taken at kicker at 10 last year and a punter at 23 this year. They have basically no needs.

11-5 with Ebron not producing. Year 2 Ebron will produce. Top 5 offense, top 5 defense, we win the Super Bowl.

I think we'd do everything to avoid Mayhew ever drafting a kicker again.

LOL......blah blah blah.....at least when you sign on as Hughes you occasionally say something worthwhile......occasionally.

I guess if you call for a Super Bowl victory EVERY year eventually, you'll be right. Good for you!!!

I was right last year. 11-5. All the haters had .500 or 9-7. They were Super Bowl caliber last year and they are this year. I'm right because I know this team better than anyone.

Everything I say is correct. 11-5. Shhhhhh

It took two nickel back injuries and a Mathis injury to get Vaughn on the field. Nobody has 5th string depth.

Same with RT. It took Waddle AND Hilliard hurt. Lucas did fine by the way. Reynolds was 3rd string RG too for Warford and Swanson injuries.

Lions had 2nd string depth and decent 3rd string depth. 4th string nobody has.

We'll talk about depth after the draft more. We are deep at DE, DT (Reid/Jones), LB, Safety, TE, nickel CB right now.

OT, OG/C, outside CB, RB could use one more guy. WR depends on Fuller, Jones and Broyles, but having Ebron step up mitigates WR depth too. Backup QB nobody likes but Dan O knows the system and won with Caldwell before and for some reason they like noodle arm Moore.

They still would've been better off drafting an OL or DB. I don't think it's hindsight either, both of those units rarely experience 100% health throughout the season. LG, C, and RT were all positions with potential for a full time replacement in the future. Considering Mathis's age, drafting a CB high also would not have been an issue.

Last season would've been no different without Ebron.

Year 2 and beyond Ebron is where we get the dividends. Donald and Lewan could blow chunks this year. See Matt Kalil for that one.

We were 11-5. CB depth was an issue but we stayed healthy with Slay and Mathis like most teams do. Sherman/Maxwell don't get hurt much. We'll get a backup CB this year. Vaughn was better on the outside and had experience. He got beat for a big TD against the Cowboys and struggled out of position in nickel during the season. We still truly beat Dallas.

RT we were deep but Hilliard got hurt. Lucas got better with time. Guard/center we had Swanson as the backup. We were deep there too. It was multiple injuries at the same position including the best player in Warford.

OT, CB, OG/C, RB we could use a guy for depth. However, if we don't get one, we still have plenth of good players there that we can win with this year.

Fuller was a disaster this year (2nd to last ranked, think Slay rookie year) and Dennard didn't play much. Those guys could have been torched by Terrence Williams on one particular play too.

Donald actually graded out higher than Suh on PFF. Elrod, a Pitt alum, is putting on lipstick while shining a rifle barrel right now.

I don't understand why you keep referring to the 11-5 regular season as though it is some sort of accomplishment. I guess it is in this city??

Shows we have the talent and coaching to do it again in 2015. Top 5 offense, top 5 defense. Super Bowl here we come.

Guess you can say the same for the 11 other teams with 10 or more wins.

Can you really keep this up for the entire off season? If you can, I'll give you props.

Those teams have a shot too. But the Lions have more talent than most of them and equal to the best.

Execution, coaching and injuries.

Those teams are all just living in the Lions' shadow. Going to be a magical 2015.

Already planning my trip to California to see the Lions play in the Superbowl. Neither ref nor blizzard can stop them this year... They don't even need a draft!

Are you suggesting they're the same? Hmm, I never thought of that. It makes perfect sense now..all coming together.

Make sure it's a refundable ticket

Why refundable..it's got the LKP stamp of approval.

I wonder if LKP will put money in escrow to cover the cost of the ticket should the lions not make it.

Say charge a $100 fee. Lions make it, he keeps the $100, Lions don't he refunds you the money at market value.

Since he is so confident, easy way for LKP to make some extra money....no risk to him!

That was the exact image I had in mind Elrod.
