Lions new OC's view on Stafford

nope..trading up for bortles....lkp will have a nice bonfire with all his Stafford charts.

I don't know all these college guys like most of you do but I like Bortles..but even in my somewhat widest dreams can't see us taking a QB let alone trading up for one..

I imagine with Hills contract up they would be looking at a late round backup. I can't imagine them being comfortable with Moore as their #2.

12 of the 19 picks were on Stafford. Some of those 12 were in wins though.
2011 10 picks in 4 losses. 6 in wins.
2013 10 picks in 4 losses. 9 in wins.

10-6 vs 7-9. 12 less turnovers forced in 2013 (22 compared to 34), 8 more fumbles lost in 2013(7 in 2011 compared to 15), drop rate 9% in 2013 compared to 6% in 2011.

Stafford did exactly what he did in 2011. You all are just too dumb to see that.

Staffords second half of the season was just plain embarrassing LKP. He barely completed 50 percent of his passes. Make up an excuse for that. You cant. He's the WORST starting quarterback in the NFL going forward, and deserves to be blasted and questioned by every Lions fan on the planet. The guy fades in the regular season, and he's the guy to get us at least deep into the playoffs?

Drops and injuries caused that poor comp % in the second half. Give them 1 drop a game compared to what they, 19 more completions so 179/296 instead of 160/296. Up to 60.4%. The 3 picks not his fault. 61.4%

That's not even counting the batted passes and throw aways and tight coverage because Durham couldn't get open or a sniffed out screen or the game in a freaking blizzard.

Stafford is only 25 and has that big arm. I truly believe if he got his footwork squared away which can be done through repetition, he will be better. He is not an elite QB because of his decision making skills. The O-Line played very well in front of him so there is no excuse there. I will give that he did not have a second receiver to throw to for thew majority of the year which can lead to bad decisions. They should have used Ross more.

50 percent is pathetic. He shouldve been benched. Why can't you just admit that Stafford being horrible is the reason his completion percentage was very Sanchez like.

So everyone in the world, Stafford, coaches, scouts, analyst, everyone on this board, radio personalities say stafford has regressed and had a worse year than 2011.

LKP says he played as well as he did in 2011. He calls everyone else stupid

Interesting.

Some Stafford mistakes can be caused by the Oline. They were not perfect, they allowed some hit and hurries. Not all about sacks. For instance, the Stafford last pick against the Ravens. Waddle got driven back into Stafford. Stafford had to throw off his back foot, throw was high over Burleson and easily picked by Elam. But that was an Oline issue too. It was also a situation issue too where Stafford threw a game winning TD pass late in the 4th but then Tucker hit a miracle 61 yarder after a good Jones return and big 3rd down conversion allowed to Jones. Stafford never should have had to attempt that pass. There was some pressure in the Bucs game too from McCoy often on some of the picks. Hurries can cause back foot picks.

10 picks caused 4 losses. 9 picks win wins. Those 10 picks are not solely on Stafford.

or maybe Stafford is the worst qb in the league at extending plays. And if he doesn't get the ball out in 2.1 seconds then he flails around the pocket like a retard on coke, hopes, preys, then unleashes some flying shit into the air that has very little chance of being caught.

Because he wasn't horrible. He was missing weapons, pressure caused some picks, Calvin drop caused a pick on a great throw, 9.4% drop rate in second half of the season, he played in a blizzard (his numbers will look bad so did Foles), and he was put in some bad situations.

No way you bench Stafford. He was the only reason we had a chance in some games in the second half. Him and Bell were the only ones playing against Pittsburgh in the 4th(plus 27 points is enough) and against Tampa in the 4th (Durham fumble great throw and Calvin pick). Game winning TD against Bears and Ravens. 40 points against Packers. Smart throw to Dickerson in OT (dropped).

Stafford is elite, played like 2011, the weapons didn't and the situation was tougher with less turnovers forced by the defense.
