Lions Off Season Thread

Like the early start......Wagner is an upgrade and Worrilow is a needed body at LB. At the very least he is an upgrade over our #4 LB and could end up being a solid starter.

#1 on my FA wish list is Desean Jackson. This offense is in dire need of some deep speed and Jackson still has it. He wouldn't come cheap....but his deal will be 2 or 3 years.

Jackson to Tampa Bay

Cornelius Lucas given restricted tender of 1.7 million. Tackle should be all set now.

RG, DE, pass rushing DT to go. Nickel CB and power RB wouldn't hurt either.

I don't get the long snapper issue. Who cares what position the guy plays... 6th and 7th rounders rarely make the team, let alone account for any kind of production.

I'd rather have a long snapper, kicker, punter.. that a LB who won't make the team or at best is a practice squad type of guy. At least that long snapper has a chance to log some playing time.

6th and 7th round to me look like perfect time to pick up a HB, a K, a P, a LS... etc... guys who will be on the field, but won't be names at all.

Recap of last hour:
1. Lions cut Levy
2. Warford to Saints
3. Reiff to Vikings
4. TJ Lang to visit with Lions

Lang and Hightower should be every Lion fan's wet dream. Hightower is probably going to get 14+ million a year. Lang maybe around 11-12 million. I wonder if Quinn would pull the trigger on both?

I probably don't have a full understanding of the current market conditions but I wouldn't pay Hightower more than 8 to 10 million or lang six to eight million

Collins signed an extension with Cleveland that paid him 12+ million per. Top 5 guards in the NFL make 10+ million per. I generally just assume top guys available in free agency will get overpaid, rarely underpaid.

Zeitler got 12 per, most others 8-10 per now on guards. Lang is older though and had an injury.

Hightower turned down 10 per from the Pats. ILB not a big time position to be paid. He'd be worth 10 per though but probably wants 11-12.

Kevin Minter would a decent lower level ILB signing. Timmons out there too but doesn't have the coverage skills at his age anymore. But if no Hightower, go for young athletic LBs in the draft.

And they could roll with Glasgow, Laken and Dahl at guard too if they don't want to pay out big bucks. I think Lang would be worth it though.

DT/DE really got picked apart quickly. Maybe a Chris Long still. Cornelius Washington who they signed is athletic. We'll see how Spence and Washington do in our attack scheme.

Collins plays a rush lb role. 12 mill for an inside linebacker position is crazy talk in my opinion

I really like the moves we have made. I hope we can get a guard. I know we talked to TJ Lang. Quinn seems to have a plan and so far so good.
