against the Giants. Eli is getting more comfortable and better as the year is progressing. How many of us would be looking at playing the Giants this week as a probable loss?

That, BTW, is how a QB builds himself up and becomes better. Seems like Stafford plateaued Week 1 and has not been able to improve since. Why? Not enough time watching film? Not enough time working on mechanics? Got off to a good start and thought he didn't need to improve after that?

CJ being out has always been an issue for Stafford, but I think a bigger issue is he gets complacent and fails to improve after that.

not to mention, how many of us think Beckham Jr. >>>>>> Ebron??? woulda, coulda, shoulda...great job Mayhew!!!

Drafting another wide receiver would've made this board just as crazy as drafting ebron did. A cb shouldve been the pick. And if we were going to draft a wr it shouldve been a guy like Evans who could possibly replace Calvin at some point.

Evans was already off the board, I was specifically looking at Beckham Jr. who went just 2 spots lower than Ebron, so no one could argue he would have been a reach or some other BS.

that kid played awesome and he has a pretty level head, would have been a great compliment to CJ and Tate.

could have gotten a TE in later rounds...you know, instead of a K BWHAHAHAHAHA

also looking at it from perspective of Mayhew & Co who just wanted to provide Stafford more "weapons". well, Beckham Jr is a far better weapon than Ebron, not even close. solid routes, hands, speed...but why would we want a weapon who brings those things to the game, right?

for me it was never about more weapons but value. I guarantee you we could have got moncrief in rd 3 and he would have been able to put up ebrons numbers. rd 1 should have been RT/CB/S or DT. Any of those 4 would have been better value than Ebron...who has shown nothing to date except his suspect hands. It was obvious we needed more weapons...but in the "deepest WR class this decade" we could have got Stafford support later in the draft.

To the OP, it certainly wasn't luck that we when our first game when we dominated so handily. The Giants have obviously turned things around in a big way, but maybe they needed that beatdown to galvanize the team. The schedule was made before the season, so none of it is luck.

by year's end, you will be wishing they had gotten this kid. Lions shoulda, coulda, woulda had a phenomenal 3 headed monster attacking the DBs in CJ, Tate, and this kid.

the DB yesterday had several holding and PI calls because he was getting lit up. hell, he actually had both a hold and PI on one play...nearly tried to tackle him as opposed to letting the kid fly by. it was a bittersweet thing to watch, knowing he could have been on the Lions getting that thing Lions receivers have such difficulty with, separation...oh, and still able to catch what is inaccurately thrown his way.

solely looking at it as lucky that they played them before Giants became a cohesive team. that cohesion took a few weeks, and Lions were lucky it did not happen during preseason thereby having to face that cohesive team W1.

Bills are lucky we couldn't kick FGs like a normal team. Our defense is good enough to shut down the Giants and force 2 turnovers like we did.

Lions have been lucky on when they played teams.

NYG..week one, team looked poor
CAR... get Cam at less than 100% making first start
GB ..get when Aaron Rodgers makes poor throws
NYJ ..bad team
BUF...Kyle Orton 1st game out of retirement.

Shame we are only 3-2. Lions have gotten a lot of breaks.

Lol you're an idiot. Aaron Rodgers has only had 2 bad games. Vs us and Seattle. But anyways...isn't calvin being injured for two weeks unlucky? Losing a million nickel backs, having the worst kicking game ever, losing Tulloch and van noy? It happens to all teams and your viewpoint is extremely narrow sighted.

Why is any of that luck? We dominated the Giants who still have a poor pass defense and have only beaten teams with bad defenses. Prior to getting torched by Denver (which many teams do), Arizona was in the running for best D in the league and also shut down the Giants.

Carolina beat us because of their great defense, which is the exact same reason they were good last year. Cam in his first game meant it should have been a low scoring game, but our offense gave the ball away 3 times for short fields (again a factor of Carolina's expectedly good defense).

GB we dominated the line of scrimmage and got in Rodger's face. Did he miss some throws? Sure, but no one is perfect all the time. I think it makes a lot more sense to say that our defense was able to get in his head than we were somehow lucky that Rodgers became a bad QB for one game (he didn't).

We aren't the only team that gets to play the Jets, so this doesn't make any sense. It's not lucky that we would get to play a few bad teams each year. Teams get matched against those with relatively equal records from the year before, and we were bad last year.

Buffalo only played Orton because their starting QB was a flaming tire fire. Would we have been unlucky if Manuel had played to his normal bad standards? Our defense was good all game, even scoring 6 points on an INT. That's exactly what you would hope against a rusty backup QB.

More picks we throw on offense the less points we score on offense..swell.

It was directed at LKP, because of all his comments last year how we always played teams when thy are "hot".

Although you may want to check the facts on Carolina defense this year. They have been poor.

Now we're lucky we beat NY? We're lucky we played the Packers when Rodgers was off? We're lucky that the Jets are shit? What a laugh!!! I guess we're lucky that our defense has played lights out for the most part. We're lucky that the injuries are not murdering us. IT'S ALL LUCK. Credit the players and coaches for what?? They don't do shit, right? And if we beat the Vikings on Sunday it will be because of no Peterson and either Ponder or a rookie QB in Bridgewater lol. It never ends with you dumb fucks..

And then I read this lol. You got me all riled up, man!!! ;)

Rodgers was coming off of an inspiring come back victory over the jets. How exactly did we catch Rodgers at the right time?

Lions clearly earned every victory, actually beat Buffalo if not for a kicker and earned the loss to Carolina. End of story.
