Lou Whitaker leads the new Modern Era Committee ballot and is the early favorite to finally get his rightful spot in Cooperstown.

Gerrit Cole, Stephen Strasburg, and Anthony Rendon lead another strong free agent class into another very uncertain offseason.

Yasiel Puig to Detroit? On a one-year deal? MLB Trade Rumors? Tigers predictions aren?t too convincing.

We now know the identities of the 16 voters who will decide whether Detroit Tigers great Lou Whitaker makes it to the Baseball Hall of Fame, and one of them is a former Tigers general manager.

The 16 members include former Tigers GM Dave Dombrowski and include individuals with a mix of backgrounds. They are: Hall of Fame players George Brett, Rod Carew, Dennis Eckersley, Eddie Murray, Ozzie Smith and Robin Yount; executives Sandy Alderson, David Glass, Walt Jocketty, Doug Melvin, Terry Ryan and Dombrowski; and media members Bill Center, Tracy Ringolsby, Jack O?Connell and Steve Hirdt.

Candidates must receive 12 votes -- 75 percent -- to be elected to the Hall of Fame through the committee process.

Lou was a hitter too! Among 2B, he's 11th in HR (4th when he retired), 14th in RBI (for a lead-off man), 11th in runs (all 10 in Hall), 7th in WAR (all 6 in Hall), 13th in JAWS.

Perhaps this summer after he's inducted into the Hall?? Do the right thing voters and give Lou his rightful due!!
