-3.

This is not the score prediction thread.

I thought this would be more likely than not.

I have no idea what?s going to happen, but I?m kinda surprised we?re only +3.

If M is an underdog, it is +3 (add three to the final score). Wisconsin is -3 (subtract three from the final score)

Yeah, thanks, I just looked it up.

Maybe I knew it correctly once, but forgot.

It?s not really part of my normal lexicon.

I saw this yesterday. If it was in Ann Arbor I would say this line is perfect, but since it's at Camp Randall, I would have figured UW -7.

UW -3 is basically a Vegas "toss up" because the Home team in games that are relatively evenly matched is usually "given" 3 just because they're home.

And I agree ...freaking Camp Randall. Thought it was a tough game before the season, now this game is huge!

Seems to me the "toss up" line would be 2.5 or 3.5 to tip the scale one way or another, depending on the breaks.

well if it's a push or no line, the Home team is implied to be -3 ...if Vegas want's to get the action going, that's when it goes 3.5 or 6.

Q: Are people who bet locked in at spread established or are they at their mercy of it?

Once you make the bet you are locked in.

The lines don't typically move too much. There are times when a line moves too much and there is a possibility to win two bets without risking too much. I had this happen to me in Vegas several years ago.

I put some money on the 49ers -3 when I got there on a Thursday. I can't remember who they were playing but by game time it was up to -6.5. I bet the same amount the other way. I think the 49ers won by 4 and I won both.

That doesn't happen very often.

sports betting is NOT pari-mutuel, like horse racing where you get the odds determined by betting flows up until the time of the race. In sports betting you lock in your odds at the time you place your wager. If spreads move considerably you can take the other side and lock in a "middle" where you eliminate your risk but still have the chance of winning both bets. Or, similarly, if the team you took has the game spread covered by a big margin at halftime, you can hedge with the other team for the second half and create a "middle." Second half spreads are usually roughly half of the game spread regardless of the halftime score.

Pretty reliable source has posted about injuries over at MGoBlog. He stated that Runyan and Mayfield are both banged up and will play if they can. Not ideal to say the least.

Lists DPJ as very questionable (THROW THE BALL TO NICO AND BLACK)

Shea is sore, but improving. Ready to go. He made no comment on if he can get past his first read without bailing out of a clean pocket. Doubtful.

Jeter will play, Dwumfour is doubtful.

Turner will play, Wilson is doubtful.

What is DPJ's injury? I know he's wearing a boot, but is that the main issue or a cover-up for something they don't want to disclose?

We may not know until he is back on the field. They don't typically release many details. So walking bootitis is all we know.

Walking boots are used for everything these days.

Did you have one after your achilles injury?

They gave me one after they took my cast off. my left leg from the knee down still felt like a peg leg to me. I wouldn?t have been able to walk without the boot. it was amazing.

The freep reported he still didn?t dress before the Army game, but he didn?t have the boot on. That?s a good sign.
