Man Up

Lions go 8-8.
Offense finishes ranked 13th in points scored.
Defense finishes ranked 9th in points given up.
Stafford 4600 yards, 27 td's, 14 interceptions

And then depending on how many major injuries we see....well it all goes to shit.

I think if they rank so well in OF/DEF they would go better than 8-8. I don't have a detailed prediction myself, but would be surprised to see them go 11-5 or better. Probably 10-6 though.

Nothing's really changed, Stafford's the key...he's either matured enough to keep sustained drives going(keeping the defense off the field)and(more importantly)getting touchdowns instead of field goals...or he hasn't. His receivers ability to make plays after the catch, or get injured trying to make the catch, depend on his accuracy.

If Stafford cannot improve his game enough to take that next step, to put himself among the premier QB's in the league...neither will the Lions compete at that level.

8-8/7-9
Injuries at key positions
Stafford/team stats ....average
No playoffs, unless there's a lot of mediocre teams(due mostly to injuries)this year.

Stafford blew today... lions coaches were schooled by San Diego's sadly...

Man up and give me your projections on the following:

I say Lions have a top 5 offense. 28-30 PPG
I say the Lions have a top 5 defense. 18 PPG given up

I say Stafford has a 100 QB rating (top 5)

And I say the Lions win 11 games in the regular season. Plus win one playoff game at least.

Give me your predictions. Man up. No waffling. the negative nancies I want your predictions.

Go.

Bump

I was trying to be positive with my guesses and I was totally wrong, so far.

Alright.......prediction time.

Lions go 11-5 again. Make playoffs. Win one game.

I have zero idea why those numbers stick in my head......but they do. I cannot shake my thought that this team will be better than last years......and they'll need it. Minnesota took a step forward and GB is GB.

Stats:

Stafford. 62% 4524 yards. 33 TD. 16 INTS. Stafford continues to be frustratingly inconsistent.....but has many more good moments than last year.

CJ - 1240 8 TD. CJ starts to show his age JUST A BIT. not much......but enough to limit his downfield throws this year

Tate - 1380 11 TD. Another shot in the dark. I think Tate is poised for a monster year.

Ebron - 650. 6 TD Ebron makes people forget last year.....but not well enough to forget he was picked 10th. 10th!!!!!!

Fuller - 400 3 TD

Riddick - 55 for 450. 3TD

Abdullah - 790 rush - 450 rec - 5TD

Bell - 1000 yds rush - 300 rec - 10 TD

Wow.....way off on EVERYTHING except Ebron, Abdullah and Riddick.

Bell would literally have to get 900 carries to get his 1000 yards.

So where are the wins on this schedule?

At Seattle- Loss
Arizona- Loss
Chicago- Win
Minnesota- Loss
Kansas City- Loss
At Green Bay- Loss
Oakland- Not even sure. We had this penciled down as a win initially.
Philly- Win
Green Bay- Loss
At St Louis- Loss
At NO- Win
San Fran- Win
At Chicago- Win

It's crazy to think we are looking at a 5-6 win team.

my guess is they will start off 0-5 and have an 8-3 finish. Lions homers will say they finished strong and are a good team, management will be fooled into the same and not make the changes that are needed and this team will be mediocre again next year.

Is it bad to say that if they go 0-5, should we be rooting for them to absolutely fall apart so some changes are made??

I know I did plenty of that in Rich Rod's last season at Michigan.

If they win in Seattle, where would you guys stand? Whoever is going up against their corner (not named Sherman) could have a heyday Monday. Not sure why, but I think this game is the turning point in our season, and we will win

1-8 start. ...someone should be fired. I'm rooting for 0-16 so we sell the team and they move to LA so i have a local team to root for.

I think Avril/bennet get 5 sacks. Whoever goes up against their other corner catches a couple 5 yard slants. Stafford can't take advantage of match ups and Lombardi can't game plan. Need more cow bell.

Minnesota, KC, Oakland, Philly, NO, San Fran, Cago (twice). 8 wins

I would stand on my head!

Need more cow bell.

He needs to go away. Get Abdullah 20 touches, and let's see what he does with them. The rest can go to Riddick. How terrible does Bell have to do to get phased out. It fucking makes me sick

I dont think Seattle is nearly as good as they have been the past two seasons, but I just honestly dont see any way they win this game. I would have put their chances at around 5% if Chancellor wasnt back, but of course being the Lions they get to play him after his 1 week warmup.

That being said, if they do somehow win this game (lololol), I very well think it could be the turning point of the season (and would for any other team besides the Lions)...but honestly, I'd think there would be an equal chance of them going back to Detroit thinking 'we have arrived' only to get clown stomped by Arizona the following week.

The problem is we can't score points against even mediocre defenses. I can't see a .500 team come out of this until our offense figures shit out....i don't know if Stafford/lombardi are capable enough to do that.
