The momentum the Tigers generated at home in recent weeks was halted by the Cleveland Indians last weekend. With a day off to regroup, we could see a better effort from a Tigers team still within striking distance of the AL wild card, but as we have seen all too often this year, their starting pitcher puts them at a substantial disadvantage in this game.

In an All-Star Game voting update released Monday evening, Miguel Cabrera was second among AL first basemen, Nick Castellanos was fifth among AL third basemen, J.D. Martinez was 15th among AL outfielders and Victor Martinez was fourth among AL designated hitters.

Personally I've decided i'm not casting anymore votes this year, I don't want any Tigers going this year and I won't be watching the all-star game at all. I don't think any of them really deserve it either to any large degree. Let as many Indians and royals go as possible, send all the Indian starters give em as little time off as possible. I think Tigers all need the time off to heal and reflect on they are going to find away to be better in the second half.
