This game was on at the same time I sat down to eat.

Was at first excited football was on, since I needed something to watch. Then I saw the name of the bowl, and the teams playing...

I ended up flipping back and forth between a current.tv special on wikileaks, and tosh.o.

Agreed. I thought the San Diego County Credit Union Poinsettia Bowl made no sense with it's limited availability to patrons. And what's with the Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl? No one I know is running out to get a helicopter for Christmas.

Oh, and I lost 23 points on FIU, so I'm not in a good mood about this thread overall!!

yeah, the SD Credit union one was baffling. What's the point of that? If your union officers are trying to expans... why? It's not supposed to be for-profit.

I would be PISSED if my credit union was spending our money on that kinda thing.

some flack at the Pentagon says "Hey, sponsoring bowl games is really good for our image. You know... insisting we maintain SKY HIGH defense spending in the face of cuts to social programs kinda looks bad, so we have to do SOMETHING. Some of the bowl funds can come from our propaganda... er... 'recruiting' budget. We'll get one of our defense contractors angling for the next massive multi-billion dollar handout to foot the rest. WINK WINK, eh?"
