mcdonald monopoly

What most people don't know is that if you get a set you don't instantly win. So if you have boardwalk and park place you get put into another contest for all the people who got both.

Well that's really lame. Is it like that for all the pieces?

Yup. But the higher ones, like park place and boardwalk, what they do is issue a ton of one of them - say boardwalk - and only a select few of park place. So they limit the amount that's out there and there's more of the "missing piece" the lower you go down on the monopoly totem pole. So there might be 1000 park places sent out but there may be 10,000 of the purple "missing pieces" sent out. And of the 1000 park places maybe only 50 people get the matching set and send it in. So you're more likely to win in that group that in the more saturated groups.

Man I just wanna win money while becoming a fatass. I thought this was america!

they were sued over this contest a while ago, and they had to run it better. I think the employees of the contractor that ran the contest kept winning, or something like that.

a long time ago, this one loser I went to high school with worked at McDonald's. Some of my other friends went in on a Saturday morning, and he gave them all the pieces attached to hash brown wrappers... they went through all of them and won nothing. The game pieces are spread around geographically, such that you'd probably need to visit different cities and eat at mcdonald's in all of them if you wanted to have a chance to win anything.

really? If that second contest isn't in the rules available to the public, there's no way they could get away with that. they would get sued and lose. they might even lose more because a lot of states have laws governing sweepstakes rules.

I haven't actually read the terms myself.

It is on something - that's where I read it. It may be on the cups in the small print under the peel off thing....I don't know - but it is on there.

I figured the pieces were across the country. Like most of the park place's are on the east coast, and board walk pieces are on the west. That's why I came on here lol.

I'm shocked nobody that has a popular youtube account or a lot of twitter followers haven't ran a scam to get pieces.

that first link makes it sound like "mathematicians" uncovered the problem; the wiki article says one of the insiders spilled the beans.

Why don't they put the stickers on the coffees?....Not complaining...I'm getting every 6th coffee free.
