yeah i wouldn't take a G over a LT either. Guards are too easy to find in the middle rounds. Unless he's a truly elite G, which i don't think he is, you take the LT.

Cordy Glenn is and will be a stud Guard in the NFL...Glenn also has the versatilty to play both left and right tackle.

So if you were the lions and both Cordy Glenn and Mike Adams which one would you take?

I like both...Cordy's versatility to play multiple spots on the O-line and the fact that Adams dominated at the senior bowl...

I would be ok with either of the picks

Depends on the grades IMO. Also, I think Glenn might be gone by the time Detroit picks. Cincy needs guards BAD, and they pick twice before the Lions.

Cordy Glenn, G, Georgia
There is no cornerback or linebacker available who is worth this pick, so it might be an opportunity for the Lions to trade back with at team looking to trade up and get a quarterback like Ryan Tannehill (Texas A&M) or Brock Osweiler (Arizona State). If not, Glenn is a solid pick. He has the size and power to thrive at guard in the NFL and could develop into a solid right tackle at some point. He held up well against top pass-rushers at the Senior Bowl but is still a work in progress at that position.

If both are on the board when we pick I think Mayhew will do a little dance and then make his selection. For me I think I would go Adams put him at LT and move Backus to RT that way you upgrade 2 spots on the oline. However, Glenn has the ability to be a force inside for this team for many years. So its a toss up.

How many 350 pounders have the lateral quickness to play tackle? Keep Cordy at guard.

If Brock Osweiler goes before day 3 of the draft, some GM deserves to be fired. McShay blows.

I thought that way last year about Ponder and Minny took him in the 1st.

IDK... both are positions of need. If Mayhew believes Adams is a starting calibre LT, he has to be the pick even if Glenn grades out as a better player at his position (guard). Backus had a good year, but he has always been just average to above average at LT, and his age and injury leaves us with a possible MASSIVE hole at LT this year.

+1 ...it would have been ugly if that injury to him happened any sooner this year. Cant afford to neglect the tackle position anymore.

ya i dont expect to find a day 1 LT starter at pick 23. At 23 you hope to grab a guy that can play RT or move inside to G for a couple years and projects as your LT of the future. Backus has a couple years left in the tank as long as he stays healthy.

Doesn't mean they can't draft his replacement. It has to be addressed soon.

not at #23 you don't....unless you get rid of Cherilus and start the rookie at RT.
