Meyer in @ Ohio

Not too shocked.

Wouldn't exactly expect him to be one to clean up the program though.

This guy have any sort of credibility? I didn't look long, but I didn't see anything to make me believe that this would be anything more than a rumor.

Shit's about to get real. If this is true then the rivalry might be as good as ever in the next 5-10 years.

I was thinking the same thing about the rivalry. Not that I'm rooting for him to go there though.

It wouldnt surprise me but I thought I saw an interview with him last week that said he wasnt coaching anywhere next year.

Meyer leaves coaching, goes to see the Pope, whines about how unsavory college football has gotten, THEN goes to ohio.

what a bunch of tools.

we're 1-0 against him? or 2-0? was he at Utah when we played them earlier in the 2000s?

I heard him tell a bald-faced Nick Saban'esque lie when coaching at Utah, talking about how he and his family loved the area and the schools and the mountains and how they'd be staying.

about 8 days later he was the head coach at Florida.

No, pretty sure he was at Bowling Green at the time. Definitely not Utah.

I didn't know that, vic.

his whining about the BCS pissed me off, but I thought some of the criticism of this guy over the last couple years was unduly harsh. However, if he goes to Ohio... OHIO of all places, after all he's said and done, he's one of the biggest hypocrites in all college football.

if he couldn't handle the stress of winning at UF, I can't wait to see him lose it when the morons down there start threatening his family after a loss to "TTUN."

that last thought made me so happy, I'm now hoping he goes there.

I still don't think its going to happen

this is from a post over at mgoblog

Today's lesson in "Rumormongering is what the twitters are for" comes courtesy of 11W:

@elevenwarriors Eleven Warriors

We are 99.7% sure Urban Meyer has agreed to a deal to become the next coach of Ohio State. Solid sources. Plural.

But then...

@Andy_Staples Andy Staples

Spoke to someone who would know tonight and was told any report of a deal between Urban Meyer and Ohio State is untrue.

----------------------------------------------------

Until its reported on ESPN, I won't think its going to happen and even then, I won't be too worried.

Didn't Meyer's heart about explode from the stresses of coaching at UF? Sounds like a person who needs to be under the insane scrutiny that will come in Columbus. Hell Kirk Herbstreit couldn't even stand living there anymore.

It was when he was at Utah and before the Colorado State game, when both were solid MWC teams... He played the ND opening against UF and took the Gator gig.

I just can't see him taking this job. They are in big trouble with the NCAA. The fact is regardless of sanctions the fans in Ohio will expect him to win every game. His health got bad at Fla where he was considered a god and he had to quit. His health issues are directly stress related. They wont go away after just one year. I had some of the same stress related issues and my doctor said it takes 2-3 years for your body to recover and if the issues come back they will come back worse. Add to that he has a cushy job at ESPN which allows him to spend time with his kids and go to their sporting events. I believe his daughter plays volleyball in the ACC.
