Miami is flooding due to GUESS WHAT?!?

that's because you are not "wise in the ways of science" or good comedy or anything, really for that matter.

Actually the scene in that MP movie involved those serfs/villagers accusing a woman of practicing witchcraft, not deviltry.

Hysteria? You want hysteria? Go to a tea party rally. THAT is hysteria. You conservatives don't hear anything the way it is. You spin "We need to take action to prevent future problems" into "OMFG! The sky is falling and we all gon' die!"

They don't want to do anything that might be considered as a slight to the TRUE Diety that they really worship, being Mammon.

I prefer Beelzebub. Gluttony is more my thing.

Since I am one of those shiftless and lazy libs sucking on the teat of the govmint dole, Sloth is more my thing nowadaze.

Beelphegor.

Just need Satan, Lucifer, Leviathon, and Asmodeus.

I'm aware - I've seen the film several times. Thanks for the correction but I'm not the one who brought up the scene or made any mention of satan or the devil in this or any other thread. I did think Gulo's reference was apt (and funny) as I thought he was making a joke about science/pseudoscience, not the devil.

Back when people were actually afraid of witches, it was because they thought they were in league with the devil. I guess that changed...maybe sometime around the Wizard of Oz. I didn't think the Macbeth witches were Satanic, but I've read that the audience would have perceived them that way.

the problem is you GW predictions have never come true..in the 70's it was the next ice age is coming...80's it was acid rain and now it global warming, which isnt happening..you fabricate data to make your math models work in your favor. dont be a sucker

Let's just say you are right. GW is a myth. What is the problem with trying to be cleaner and more efficient? There is some sort of climate change happening whether you like it or not. Maybe it isn't 100% on humans. Why not try to do something that slows it down or helps to turn it around?

One thing is for sure, idiots like in this video are not ones I'd want to side with.

Back when republicans were sane they passed legislation regulating sulfur deposits which drastically cut down on acid rain. That was bush 1 in the 90s, hell, the EPA was founded under Nixon.

Now we have a large percentage of the GOP believing that God controls the weather. They cite the old testament about God causing floods and drought and apply it to modern times.

The Libs crack me up.

The US has already changed their GW practices to a large extent and continues to move in a good direction of reducing the human impact within a reasonable timeline. The challenges currently needing to be focused on are developing large scale renewable energy like solar, wind, geothermal, tidal, etc. Those all have potential to change the continued dependence on fossil fuel, but until they actually achieve the potential and make the theoretical into practical reality, what do you want society to do? Stop working, eating, and other activities that result in massive energy demands? Maybe if everyone woukd stop expelling so much CO2 then we could eliminate the GW problem.

Do your cause and the world a favor and put your energy toward resolving the remaining problems with clean renewable energy and simultaneously stop other nations like China from pumping far more pollutants than the US does into the atmosphere, lakes, rivers, ground, and oceans.

No, the US is not perfect...but it isn't the biggest problem and is working bard and spending boatllads to reduce its GW footprint. Get off the soapbox, turn off your AC, stop growing grass in your yards that requires more water than pretty much anything else, stop driving your car, turn off your computers and TVs, or quit your bitching. We are all responsible for the current state of GW, but Libs just act like only the Cons are the problem.

Instead of pointing fingers, put time and money toward fixing the clean energy hurdles. Fuck, I want solar but the costs vs efficiency not to mention building code issues are all hurdles that still need to be overcome, regardless of what political party is in office (currently Dem fwiw).

I agree that we've done more than many countries.

The real problem right now is fracking, IMO. Did you know that Oklahoma now is the earthquake capital of this country? http://news.nationalgeographic.com/...lahoma-earthquake-spike-wastewater-injection/

And what makes that even worse is what it has done to rivers and lakes and ruining people's drinking water. If you haven't seen gasland, I suggest you check it out. gasland 2 is also good. It's a bit shocking that these people get away with what they do.

Also, attacks on the EPA are hurting, giving idiot companies the right to dump whatever they want into our water without sharing exactly what it is. You remember the WV thing last year, right?

Here's an article of where you'll want to live in 50 years. Sounds like Alaska & the Pacific NW are going to be fine. The Midwest probably will.

I think I'll keep my house in Chicago for the winters, and get a summer place up in Northern Ontario.

2046 is Michigan's year?

Hmm, time to start buying up all those abandoned houses and decrepit lots from the City of Detroit for cheap, sell them high when Detroit becomes the new Florida. Become the next Donald Trump. Awful hair optional.
