Hoke recruited well to Michigan. I don't think Harbaugh and his staff will have any problems. They definitely don't need OSU to win games to help their recruiting.

Get Starteda few thoughts on this
OSU is miles ahead of everyone else, it's not even close. the next closest is MSU but it's an uphill climb to get to where they are. Us maintaining success this year was huge, not slipping back much after a dream season.
UM is in more than just a little downturn, they haven't won a big ten title in over 10 years. UM fans should wish that they were wisconsin, not fear becoming them. Wisconsin has been excellent since the late 90's.
I think Dantonio is as good if not better than those other coaches. you said that MSU has had good coaches who departed for other jobs, by other coaches you mean Saban who pretty much sucked at MSU other than his last season.
Money won't matter nearly as much in the future, especially after the new BTN deal is announced (unless we start paying players). Everyone in the conference is going to have their pockets full, there is a point of diminishing returns when it comes to facilities. everyone has nice facilities for the most part, it's a conference with a majority of haves and very few have nots. donor dollars won't matter as much after this new TV deal.
I think a conference needs good teams first and foremost, you really need to be top heavy. have a lot of good teams with parity just gives you a bunch of 3 loss teams. I don't think it's of major significance that they are programs that are traditionally good. Oregon is a great example, they were terrible for years but now they're the standard bearer of the Pac 12. I don't think the Pac 12 is weak just because USC is down. I don't get that caught up in the brand name
How quickly you forget. Sorry I even responded, Troll on sparty Troll on.
So thanks jwlcosu. I can't say I am pulling for the Bucks, but your wishes for a renewal of UM prominence are appreciated. May the NC game at least be without controversial calls for/against the Buckeyes so the players fully deserve their win/loss and there is no disputing which team deserves the victory. That's about the best I can do in return for the well wishes in your post.
You are welcome, zyxt9, and thanks back to you. Apart from that, I will have no problem whatsoever if the Buckeyes happen to benefit from a controversial call or two!
Get a room you pansies.
Just because some people are too narrow minded or intellectually incapable to comprehend how OSU winning benefits the B1G overall doesn't mean others do not.
I'm pulling for Oregon, but I'm not going to whine like a fucking douche if the Buckeyes win because it is a bigger benefit to UM in the long run. Society is too caught up on immediate satisfaction these days and no longer have the ability to grasp long term gains from short term setbacks. Next year, OSU winning the NC would be a thing in the past and EVERYONE, including OSU fans, will be looking FORWARD to the Harbaugh led Wolverines hosting the Buckeyes. UM fans should already be focused more on that, so what does it really matter if OSU wins the NC? Bragging rights? OOOOOO, AAAAHHHH...big fucking deal. The future is more important right now. If the next ten years UM wins more often in The Rivalry and wins more NCs than OSU, none of this will matter. It will be forgotten just like most have forgotten that guy's name who coached before Bo.
Stop being pussies and man up. Not saying you have to pull for OSU, but the world won't end if OSU wins and it has benefits to B1G in terms of MSM and that impacts recruiting which helps UM. Acknowledge and move on if that is what happens.

Vic, you know the MSM is going to crown the newest Super Duper Bestest conference that has supplanted the SEC with whichever conference wins the first playoff championship, right? They will overhype everything and everyone in that conference, giving it tons of coverage it has not seen in a decade.
Some are acting like its Life or Death, its just a football championship game. Far more important things to stress over, like health, family, and happiness. My happiness is no longer dependent upon some stupid football game when compared to my son. So yeah, fuck OSU and Go Ducks, but don't have a stroke if OSU wins because it means more B1G hype by MSM which coupled with having Harbaugh will potentially push a kid like Marshall toward one conference or another. Not saying it is THE factor, but it is one and in recruiting every little thing can add up and sway a teenage boy to choose something different, simply because they crave something as fleeting as the spotlight and to be hyped with every possible second of coverage because they know the hype can result in being drafted sooner and that means more money. These kids are impressionable, but they aren't so stupid as to not go for their most lucrative dream possible. A kid like Marshall loves the hype and loves a challenge. Would he rather compete against the WRs who won the last NC or against the second place team....which one was it again??? They didn't win so I forgot them already and the game hasn't even been played yet.
I don't think deep down Harbaugh wants them to win either. He just has to say that at this point.
