“I want to be on the field with my team and do everything to win games,” he said. “But you gotta understand when you can play. I think I don’t want to give myself extra time but I think I’ll hurt myself again. I try to push it and I try to come back too soon and look where I am right now.”

My big concern now is will he miss a month now every time he tweaks his back

Miguel Cabrera: 'I want to finish my career here -- Translation: I make too much money for them to trade me.

Miggy should return tonight June 1, or over the weekend.

Miguel Cabrera and Detroit’s Record Books
Obviously the recent injury has slowed Miggy down, but if he remains healthy he could easily move up Detroit’s all-time record books in a variety of different categories.

He needs 40 more runs to pass Norm Cash for ninth all-time.

Cabrera needs 36 more hits to pass Bobby Veach for eighth all-time.

He needs 44 more total bases to pass Norm Cash for eighth all-time and 253 more to pass Alan Trammell for seventh.

He needs 32 more doubles to pass Sam Crawford for seventh and 42 more to pass Trammell for sixth.

Miggy needs just 36 more walks to pass Harry Heilmann for ninth place.

And finally, if Miggy strikes out 49 more times this season he will move into second place in franchise history, behind Brandon CrInge.

Miggys return from the near month long 10 Day DL goes 1-3 with a walk and Gidp. The GIDP was his 299th carrer moving him into 10th all time breaking tie with Harold Bains (298)

Tigers split a doubleheader with the spanks at home June 4th Miggy combined for the two games was 2-8 with 2 doubles, 1 RBI, 1 Run Scored 2k's

The run scored now ties him with former Tigers great and one of my childhood fav tigers Sweet Lou Whitaker (1,386) at 99th all time

Fairly boring game for miggy tonight at the plate. 6-7-18 2 walks 1 run 1k

Run moves him to #99th solo (1,387) breaking tie with Whitaker (1,386) 3 more to catch DiMaggio at 98th (1,370)

The two walks moves him into a tie at #85th all time walks with Beltran (1,084)

With the abrupt 2018 end already for Miggy due to a season-ending injury, Miggy concludes the 2018 season with 3 HR's 22 RBI's and a .299 batting ave and just 1 hit shy of tieing Luis Aparicio to become the 2nd all-time hits leader for a Venezuelan born player.

All-time Venezuelan hits leaders

(43) Omar Vizquel 2,877
(71) Luis Aparicio 2,677
(72) Miggy 2,676

Get well and hope to see you back in 2019 Miggy
