Mike Ilitch can afford Tigers payroll with Prince

Exactly why I just shook my head an ignored the people saying he shouldn't pay that much and it's going to hurt the future. The man didn't get where he is today by making bad decisions. If it was detrimental to him, his business, or his holdings then it wouldn't have been done.

Me neither.. So he should really spend and go get us a 2nd baseman, starting pitcher and a lead-off guy...Might as well try the Cuban guy now that he is on a roll...

It's still a business, and the higher you go with payroll the less chance of ending up in the black at the end of the year.

Just because someone has the money, does not mean he should spend it all.

Ilitch has never been a cheapskate, but don't forget some of us would like to see JV and Miggy resigned, I don't mind the contract one bit, but it does have the ability to affect our spending in the future.

He was about to buy the Pistons and PSE too, remember? Though PSE is one helluva money maker, he would have spent a shit ton of money to acquire it. Dude is so far from being in trouble money wise it is sick.

Plus, at 82, what is he gonna do, save it? He has taken care of his family 10 fold....spend baby spend!

Yeah he should spend and really put us over the top.. Screw taking it with you..Tigers have not won a title since 1984.... It would be nice to reel in a few winning trips to the WS in the next few years.. With injuries there is never enough...Plus it would be nice to see ESPN have to focus on those back to back to back Title holders in Detroit..
