Missouri 'right-to-work' law rejected by popular vote

unions spent $15M to get the result, 3x the opposition. Sounds like something Bob bitches about all the time....if it were the other way.

If any of youse ever hear me talking about applying for a job in Missouri, please just put me out of my misery.

See what I did there?

So what . The GOP and koch brothers spend all the time on issues . When have I every not been on the side of stopping citizens united so no organization can spend like this on both sides. Tell you what . I bet if both sides had spent zero that awful right to work law would still have been voted down.

Anyone who is anti-union and for the corporations to have all the power just baffles me.
Union membership is at a all time low because of GOP policies for right to work states. Who is going to stand up for employee rights because last time I check compainies do not give two-shits for their employees but hey let’s fight to be able to fire anyone on demand!

I see what you did.

I remember in a book I was reading about the Marines along the DMZ in Vietnam... there was a note about a Marine who wrote on his flak jacket: "Missouri is the state I'm from... Misery is the state I'm in"

All joking aside, it's a shitty state.

But I did win $700 in texas hold em at the casino there from a buncha Missouri hicks who were like "Hurr, hurr we's gonna take this city boy's moneh" when I sat down at the table.

That?s cool.

paid for my trip, and a lap dance for the bachelor, with a couple $100 to spare!

(the bachelor was not me)

on the drive from Chicago to Texas, the absolute ugliest stretch of the trip is the Missouri bootheel region.

We stopped for food, and it was nothing but fast food and flea bag motels, and everyone was obese. Not just like a little overweight, but disgustingly obese. It was bizarre.

Your anecdotal evidence is what is bizarre. Missouri is the home of St. Louis. Home of the Arch, gateway to the west. St Louis has had a professional baseball team since the late 1800's. They have the most National League World Series titles, and second most overall next to the Yankees. You can find good in any state - it takes idiots on a sports message board to try to denigrate an entire state on anecdotal stupidity.

St Louis was amazing when I visited. That's the limits to my experience in Missouri.

I went to a Cards game there once, and work on 2 occasions - the one thing I found odd was St Louis was very work oriented. Walking the streets everyone was in work clothes, a dress & Suit. No one in casual clothes or shorts .. All business like. This was in the 80's.

I did visit the Bowling hall of fame, very cool - and Cards hall of fame.

I had a clutch fan break once driving out to Vegas somewhere in misssouri . It was a cheap 30-40 dollar fix that turned out to be the lowest cost on that trip of many breakdowns . They guy was pretty friendly if I am remembering it right. Saw the arch. That was ages ago.

I've never been to St. Louis or MO but I can tell you there are plenty of overweight people in MI all the same. There are these two chicks I see sometimes while out jogging that will be sitting on the curb smoking while glued to their iPhones, they never look up at all. I just quietly jog by and have named them the "two stumps on a log". ribbit.

I went to a Cards game circa 2010. everyone there was in a Cardinals t-shirt, cargo shorts and flip flops. I found that odd.

We stayed at a hotel connected to one of the casinos along the river.

The city seemed... okay, I guess. I didn't get to roam around much because I was there for the aforementioned bachelor party, and the bachelor wanted us to go to a cards game, then hit the casinos.

I stand by my statement that the missouri bootheel area is a dump though.

Do they know you're a meat-eating alpha male who listens to Alex Jones, and not some beta cuck libtard?

you should stop and tell them.

I have been to all of the states that surround Missouri though just not Missouri itself, that's weird

Probably not, they never look up! can't you read? I've never felt compelled to stop and say Hey get off the sidewalk!
