the government already has everything they need to surveil the population, arrest, detain, and search the population. if something gets through, either they fucked up and missed the opportunity to stop it, or there was no stopping it, period, and no amount of police state actions would've prevented it.

maybe these guys were sleeper agents sent by al qaeda as some are alleging? doesn't seem to make sense to fund their living expenses, tuition & fees, and the like for over two years (which is easily $100,000 or more total) for just a couple of homemade bombs at a marathon.

my guess is they had some other issues... too much credit card debt, or frustration at finding the going tougher than they were lead to believe, and decided to go out violently. a strict interpretation of Islam just provided a more righteous justification to turning to bombing and robbing 7-11s or whatever they did.

If they were affiliated with some terror org that group obviously didn't know or they would have taken credit from the beggining. They'll piece together these kids story and I'm sure there will be some group ties but I doubt they would be called members, more like wannabes.

He will be killed most likely by his own hand or maybe in a pitched gunbattle. My guess is that he might have broken into an occupied or unoccupied dwelling, and if the former, may have taken hostages, threatening to kill them if they try to alert authorities, or should any approach and knock on their door or ring the doorbell, or if they try to escape.

He also may have carjacked his way out of the search area early this morning, and awhile before the greater Boston area was put on lockdown.

See, now this is going to open the door for police drones because they can reach target faster than helicoptors. Helo should have been airborne at the time, but the drones would not have required nearly the time, effort, nor fuel to get eyes on the fucker.

Yes I realize what doors will open up as a result, but it sure beats the hell outta having an entire city on lockdown, including its surrounding suburbs and the governor was saying all citizens of MA should stay inside if possible.
