Mock Draft Thread

PFF has 37 accounted for, 8 coverage sacks

Sims 5
Raiola 4
Pettigrew-1
Reiff-2
Warford-2
Waddle-5
Lucas-5
Swanson-1
Reynolds-3
Stafford-5
Bush-1
Winn-1
Riddick-1
Bell-1

Thanks, interesting to see.

Sims number was a bit high, but he did start out slowly, wouldn't be suprised if the majority were in the 1st quarter or so of the season. I thought he played rather solid in the back half of the season.

Anyone heard anything on the Lions plans with him? I'm thinking not hearing much could mean not planning on bringing him back.

I think they need at least a starting caliber T and G, I am also not sold on Swanson either.

Sims played great in December and decent in the playoff game. He was battling injury early in the year. Sims is not a good run blocker though any year. Raiola sucked at both last year. Warford was good but not a stud last year like his rookie year.

Sims is probably the last option if they miss out on guards in free agency. Sims wants to be here. Even if we bring him back, I'd still take a guard in Round 2 or 3.

Reiff was only charged with 2 sacks and 5 QB hits all year, had no holding penalties all year and was a good run blocker.
There is more to it than those stats. You can not possibly think he played well at LT.

I would want to bring Sims back on a two year deal with majority of the money in base salary, that way we can cut him after the 2015 season if he regresses. Agree with picking up a Guard if a good one is available in 2nd or 3rd. Even if he doesn't start year #1.

He graded well. Run blocked well, no penalties. And his pass block was good, sacks and hits are the biggest thing and they were low.

27 hurries. He still had a good pass rush grade.

Reiff played well at LT two years in a row. I'd rather have him then some rookie picked at 23.

While I can't imagine many are "sold" on Swanson, I also can't see how he played enough at C to be deemed not worthy either. I hope they don't invest any of the draft at C, I'd rather have a veteran backup there.

Year 2 we'll see on him. He needed to bulk up for center or guard. He's a natural center. The bar is set low by Raiola 2014 for improvement. Swanson didn't look like a guard to me but again he needs to bulk up this offseason.

I don't want to waste a pick unless it was almost a sure thing they were going to be great. If there is a FA out there that is a lot better than him I rather sign them and have Swanson as depth.

Walton didn't play well this year. Hudson would be good. Myers and Hardwick don't are old.

But we'll roll with Swanson in year 2. Swanson did well in his only game at center.

He will defend every single lineman. Then we'll say "perfect! The line is great so that means stafford must really suck. " so then he'll blame the run game. Then when we start bashing the run game he will defend them. Which will bring us back to the FACT that stafford is below average. Rinse...repeat...

the starting Oline was good other than Raiola. It's the same line from 2013 which played well. And played well in 2014 when healthy.

Sims was playing hurt and is not a good run blocker.

Reiff, Warford are good. Waddle is solid to good when healthy. Swanson is our center and can be good.

I blame injuries and Raiola. Waddle/Hilliard/Warford hurt really hurt us. Sims playing hurt was not good for the Lions.

Lucas did solid filling in for Reiff but not at RT. Reynolds at RT not good. Swanson not a RG, he's center and needs to bulk up.

A healthy Oline is a good Lions Oline.

The protection and run blocking wasn't there is a fact. Mainly due to injuries and Raiola/Sims regression.

If you think Waddle can't stay healthy and have no faith in Lucas improving, and OT is BPA at 23, you take a OT.

But the Lions could still do well with Reiff and Waddle at tackle. The rookie may ride the pine year 1.

that's why i picked the OT in the first round. i am assuming detroit will have their DT problems solved in FA. Suh is likely gone so, I expect Fairley and at least one more either, Mosley, Phea or Wilfork. Clemmings can play RT and LT

Lions have a comp 4th rounder too.

Here's a couple 2nd-3rd round sleepers at a position of need.

CB Steven Nelson
CB Ifo Ekpre-Olomu
