More Millen Hilarity

What drives me nuts about this is our team president literally went out of his way to give advice to another team, rather than protecting our interests.

Bear in mind, I said "drives me nuts" not "surprises me".

I wonder if the Lions could sue him for conflict of interests? They wouldn't get a damned thing, but the thought of the Lions fucking over Millen for a change makes me smile a little.

Any proof? The other guy is dead, Millen is probably just making stuff up.

Actually a brilliant move by Millen. He would know no one would be dumb enough to take WR drafting advice from him, so this cemented All Davis's desire to take Jamarcus.

Also can you imagine any two worse people to talk draft strategies. Probably did this a Jerry Jones house.

I dont think they would have taken AP. If I remember right they really wanted Gaines Adams. They actually tried to trade down with Tampa but Tampa wouldnt give up a 2nd rd pick.

Brian Williams reported it.

Based on what Millen told him..Nearly eight years after the Raiders used the first overall pick in the draft on one of the biggest busts of all time, former Lions G.M. Matt Millen says he warned the late Al Davis not to pick quarterback JaMarcus Russell.

I think I remember this one. Either Millen or Marinelli were in love with Adams. The other wasn't though so they had a conflict of interests on their hands. Thank God lol

There were a lot of reports that if the Raiders went with Calvin, we would take Peterson.

However, I remember a TON of speculation that if Calvin were taken #1 overall, the Lions would take either Brady Quinn or Joe Thomas at #2.

I was stoked for Thomas, but the odds on bet was Quinn... which would have made Millen's draft history perfect.
