Ty, Thanks for diggin' out the story. These guys are like freakin politicians too. Some years they don't vote for a player and then they will subsequent years. and vice/a/versa.
I like alot of what joe sheehan does, but other times he comes off as a pompous BFS.
These guys also pick and choose various stats for one player they are pushing for, and then another set of stats info to make another player look like less of a hof'er.

That sums it up. I am tempted to go over Morris start-by-start, but that could be a massive undertaking.

Pitching to the score is a crock of shit.

I can remember a number of games that Morris did just that. Tigers up 6-1, team scores to make it 6-4 or 6-5 and then Jack shuts them down.

Greg Maddox admitted to doing it on occasion. Sometimes if the Braves were up big, he'd deviate from his game plan to confuse hitters for later in the year.

This guy just posted statistical evidence to the contrary.

Jack was great for the Tigers, but he's no Hall of Famer.

So he claims. I have read it and have some reservations as to his method. To refute it, I'd have to go through everyone of his starts though. He could be correct, but I am dubious. He went in looking to refute the claim and that is what he ended up doing. It rarely works that way in research.

I don't believe Jack Morris is a HOF pitcher.

Hall of Very Good, but not Hall of Fame.
