MSU gets #42 player for 2015

Also, Gill Caesar at #22, Eric Davis at #34. i know there's talk about MGC reclassifying for 2014, we have more of a need for a scorer/slasher next year

Izzo said he has no problem with one and dones and mentioned its a farce that "he looks for 4 year players" He also said Randolph was an example of a one and done and he was fine with it

He's been going after a lot if one and done guys, just missing out. At least 2015 is off to a good start

i was just bringing it up that the type of players that don't want to come to MSU are the types that don't value any education and are looking for that fast path to the draft. when coach Cal churns out 4 high draft picks each year, kids look at that.

i never said anything about Izzo going after these types of guys (he has to if he wants to stay competitive with recruiting), just that they're teenagers who have been told that they can play in the NBA. Izzo's track record for NBA players is that he produces solid role players with the occasional start, whereas coach Cal produces guys that don't care about anything but being a high first round pick.

I'm with you on that, Cal has a different pitch. Come to UK, practice against other lottery picks, get better, live in a MTV cribs type dorm, take bs classes first semester, don't bother showing up in the second since you're going to the NBA anyway. they just usher them through a short internship on the way to the NBA, it's a completely different environment there

These high schoolers want to have their cake and eat it too. They want to be one and done and then want to win big in the NCAAs during their brief stay. The best way for them to do that is for about 4 of them to team up and then go somewhere where they can play immediately then perhaps just win on sheer talent. Kentucky works since all the guys from last year will be gone and then there's lots of openings. Of course this year's group is finding out it's not quite that easy, last weekend's win notwithstanding.

Still, you need some of that talent ultimately to win big, ideally the type of talent that can blend in with an experienced core and be that guy who can get you over the top, the way Jabari could have been. Maybe you don't need one and done talent, but NBA talent, perhaps a sophomore (or several) with NBA talent who has smoothed out some of the freshman rough edges, like a Gary Harris.
