Certainly has meant the most for several years.

The UM-OSU rivalry is the fakest in all of sports. If OSU wins Saturday, nary and UM fan won't be rooting for PSU even though a PSU win would send OSU to the BCG. No rival has lived vicariously more than UM fans have lived through OSU the last decade or more. OSU winning titles is great for UM fans who think that makes the fake rivalry better.

Rivalries are forged over many years not a just a few. Given there have greater implicatons towards winning the B10 in recent years there is a "recent rivalry" but not much more than that.

lol.. whatever helps you sleep better at night. State football has been relevant 3 years out of the last 20. Connor Cook has made State the last 3 years. It will be a long time before MSU gets another QB of his caliber. Enjoy the rest of this season because starting next year you guys will fade into mediocrity again for the next 10 years.

Its actually been the last 8 since dantonio arrived (DUH). Boo hoo, save your crying, dont be butthurt and envious. Also a good idea not to get your hopes up until he leaves :) MSU is going to be one of the top hoops and football programs until Izzo and Dantonio are both gone. Pretty obvious from your post it really bothers you, it shouldnt.

Next!

There's a difference between a rivalry and a game with bigger implications. In the last 8 years or so msu vs osu has meant a lot more in the big ten and nationally, that doesn't mean that it's as big of a rivalry.

UM-OSU has meant dick for a decade. UM only cares because they want to live off from Ohio State's accomplishments.

I don't think MSU and OSU are rivals. Both teams have been really good lately, but there's no history of hatred or even real care outside of the games when they play each other. I rooted for OSU last year when they made they playoff, just like I root for every B1G team during bowl season (except UM).

Urban Meyer called it a rivalry game and it is. That said, I don't think anyone from either school would consider us as big a rival as the other but I also don't give a crap - just like almost every other person on the planet who isn't a uofm or osu fan. They may know it's a big rivalry but they don't care that it is. I root for michigan in the game but I don't hate osu.

I also want every B1G to win bowl games - except for wisco. I can't stand that team.

funny, I heard the same thing about Kirk Cousins when he left MSU.

Thank god we had connor cook on saturday, we would have gotten killed by OSU without him

Hoyer, Cousins, Maxwell, and Cook, 3 out of 4 will be starters in the NFL in 2016. I think we'll be fine.

It's just the story that some want to believe, that our success was fluky based on one player, even though MD has been here 9 years. The program is a lot more than one qb

Yeah, 5 of 6 seasons with double digit wins, 4 bowl wins in a row and in position to make the playoffs. But just wait until Greg Jones, Jerel Worthy, Will Gholston, Max Bullough, Darqueze Denard, Trae Waynes, Le'Veon Bell, Bennie Fowler, Tony Lippett, Isaiah Lewis, Trenton Robinson, Kirk Cousins, Jeremy Langford, BJ Cunningham, and Keyshawn Martin leave, we're toast after that.

This team is fairly loaded next season, just have to continue to develop O'Conner or Cook to be average to above average, get a receiver or 2 to step up and we're right back in the thick of things again. Plus, we get Ohio State and UM at home, can't wait to stomp the Weasels at Spartan Stadium again, a place they haven't won since 2007.

The overall talent on the team is trending up.

I can agree it's a better rivalry the last couple years with what was on the line. I always considered PSU our other rival because they were the other guaranteed B1G for us for years. But now I can see sparty taking over that spot.

I'm still pissed about the loss but I respect the fact sparty punched OSU in the mouth and we didn't fight back.

If there is no fight this week I'm going to be pissed. The loss to sparty is ok, a loss to U# is never ok.

Plus I spent a lot of time in Lansing for work the last couple of years and I liked a lot of the area around campus. Cruchy's, No Thai, El Azteco, and Hop Cat. All good In my book.

A good friend just bought Crunchy's, great burgers, I'll be there Saturday.

In the early 90s a Crunchy burger w/ chips and a beer was like $5 or $6, maybe less. Great burgers and easily one of the best deals in town. Now when I go back, if we go out it's usually to El Az.

Crunchys has awesome pizza, it's half off on Sunday's. Many a Sunday have spent by me splitting a pizza and watching football while recovering from a hangover.

I freaking love No Thai, most of my friends have never had it or haven't even heard of it. I believe there is a couple in Ann Arbor as well.

never even heard of it. where is it and how long has it been around? I graduated in 92 and was a season ticket holder through 2001. Gave them up when I moved to NY, but I still went back once a year until I got married and started having kids in '09. This is literally the first time I've ever heard of it.

I went to Crunchy's on Sunday all the time but I've never had anything other than a burger there. Don't even recall seeing pizza at anyone's table - or reading a menu for that matter, always had the same thing so why bother.
