I had my fourth back injection of the year today and they normally use Versed to sedate me.. I little pin prick of the stuff in you hand does the trick.. But today they told me that there is a national shortage of Versed so they would have to give me diprvan (Michael Jackson's drug).. Only really difference is Versed is conscious sedation and diprivan knocks you out for 10-20 minutes depending on the dose.. They did have to give me oxygen with the diprivan also.. Other then that the Anesthesiologist also cut out another small drug that they normally give me and i tell you what i do not feel nauseated and although I am pretty chatty right now I don't feel to out of it like I normally do when they use Versed...

Anyway sorry about the long winded message when my question to anyone in the medical field or who might know is why is there a shortage of Versed... I am just curious as I asked the nurse and they said they were never given a reason by the government .... Thanks i will check back later as i am starting to crash big time... Thanks again...

Usual manufacturing issues

Versed is what they gave me when they repositioned the ankle - knocked me out and you don't remember
