NFL Blasts Redskins and Cowboys

Cowboys lose $10 million in space, Redskins lose $36 million for illegal front-loading of contracts during capless year in 2010. They can split it evenly over this and next year.

That space gets spread out to the rest of the teams in the NFL except Saints and Raiders. Extra $1.6 million in cap for the Lions.

hmmmm...never thought there were any rules on that. Thought a lot of teams were doing that during the capless year. Wonder why it was illegal.

I remember something about contracts having to be within 30% year over year, anyhow thanks to them.

ya wonder if the union makes them be at like 100% of cap since they have a lower cap number.

Doubt it. NfLPA just wants a certain %of rev to go back to players as salary. In this case it still does just not to the skins or cowgirls players.

So do they follow the zyxt9 plan and take the full hit in 12 and load up the roster with rooks and past their prime vets?

I think it depends on how they split it though. For example, the Skins could choose to take all 36 million next season, and the other teams would get the extra from that next season, 1.2 million in 2013.

Ha, that would be funny except you obviously missed the facts of what I was explaining which is you need picks, which they don't have because they traded them to the Rams. If ur going to criticize at least be smart about it...but why should u b any different than all the others who lashed out before trying to actually understand my comments.

the Redskins by your theory should get those first round picks back....trade Orapko , right...before he wants that real big contract

The skins made a very aggressive move for that number 2 pick and I think it just blew up in there face. They were only going to be a competitive team for the next two years with some big free agent pick ups. Well no money=no free agents which means my DC living ass gets to make fun of all these idiots who were talking playoffs and superbowls in the very near future.

Actually as already stated they don't have to worry about their cap because they have plenty of room. That concept has been revised as being an option best suited in an extreme situation to make room via rookie cap. I'm not perfect Slick, the concept was flawed sure, but that isn't to say it was completely worthless...just needed modification. It is a way teams can save money if they are desperate enough, and better to get some trade value from the superstar than for them to reach FA and get nothing in return. Well, IMO anyway.
